Finger Paints Poolside Paradise Collection, Swatches and Review
Hi everyone! Do you ever buy a collection because it looked so great in swatches or bottle shots, only to feel "meh" about them in person? I think that would be an apt way to describe my feelings about this summer collection from Finger Paints.

China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection: Part 2 "Gossip Over Gimlets"
Hi everyone! After a bit of a delay, I have the second half of the new China Glaze Autumn Nights collection. Don't forget to check out my swatches of the first half called "Strike Up A Cosmo."
While I really loved all, or almost all, of the polishes in the first half of the collection, I feel that this half is either hit or miss for me. Like the first six polishes, all the ones I'll show in this post have an excellent formula. But some colours are rather ordinary and worth passing on, unless you don't have anything like it already.
Charmed, I'm Sure is a dark eggplant creme. Not a highly unique polish, but it's a great colour and if you don't have one like it, I highly recommend it. It's very pigmented and goes on perfectly smooth. It also has a great consistency and is not runny or streaky. This was 2 coats.
Gossip Over Gimlets is a silver-gold foil. It is mainly silver and if you look close you can see specks of gold. On it's own I find this rather bright and blingy - for lack of a better word - but I think this would be great as an accent nail or in nail art. The consistency was perfect and minimal clean up was needed. Overall the formula was excellent and it went on very evenly. This was 2 coats.
Kiss My Glass is a steel grey metallic. It looks very similar to Public Relations but is more of a blue/cool-toned steel grey. It also has a great formula like the others - it goes on smooth and is perfectly self-leveling. In the photos it looks like it is very frosty and brushstrokey, but this is less noticeable in person. This is another one I'm not too keen on as a full mani, but I think it would be great for nail art and stamping. 2 coats here.
Public Relations is a steel grey metallic with a slight purple tone. It's very close to Kiss My Glass in both colour and formula, so you probably don't need both of them. The formula was very good, it went on very evenly and smooth. However, I did have some issues with bubbling, but that might be user error. Like Kiss My Glass it appears to be on the frosty side, but is better in person. 2 coats.
Queen B is a dusty dark blurple creme. I love the colour and although it might not be the most unique, I don't think I really have anything like it. The formula is okay, but I found it was a bit runny and had a tendency to pool in my cuticles. Otherwise, it goes on very smooth and is perfectly self-leveling. This was 2 coats.
Rendezvous With You is a dark burgundy/purple foil with a silver shimmer. This is hands down my favourite polish of the entire collection - the colour is so beautiful and vampy with an amazing, eye-catching shimmer. Also the formula is perfect - the consistency was just right and minimal clean-up was needed. Like the others, it goes on very smooth and evenly, and while I used two coats here, it easily is a one-coater.
Out of this half of the collection, my favourite is Rendezvous With You, followed by Queen B and Gossip Over Gimlets. From the collection overall, my favourites are Rendezvous With You, Don't Make Me Wine, and Strike Up a Cosmo.
While some of the colours may not be the most unique, I think this collection is strong for having a variety of colours and finishes, also there's not a single polish with a poor formula. It really does get me in the mood for fall colours.

China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection: Part 1, "Strike Up A Cosmo"
Hi everyone! I've been a bit silent on the blog the past few days, perhaps a slight case of blogger burnout (don't worry though, I'm not going anywhere). However, I'm very excited to be showing you the first half of the new China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection. I was instantly intrigued when I saw the press release and bought the collection the moment I could get my hands on it.
The Autumn Nights collection is meant to evoke the glamour of night life, conversations, and cocktails. The promotional images have a touch of 1920s glamour, which also attracted me to the collection. Tonight I'm going to show you the first half of the collection called "Strike Up a Cosmo," with the second half coming later this week.
This post is a bit picture heavy so I'll save my thoughts to the end. In order to capture the gorgeous shimmers and foils in this half of the collection, I've also included photos under direct light for each polish - so the first two swatch photos are taken in my lightbox, and the third under direct light.
Don't Make Me Wine is a (not surprisingly) wine-coloured shimmer. It looks very similar to Red-y & Willing, but it leans more towards a purplish-red. The shimmer is very beautiful and the colour is so vibrant - I think this might be one of my favourites out of the collection. The formula was excellent - the polish had great coverage, and went on very smooth and evenly. 2 coats.
Goldie But Goodie is a gold-copper foil. If you look up close at it you can actually see bits of gold and bits of copper. Golds can be difficult for me to wear, but this was very flattering. The formula was excellent, it goes on very smooth and even. Like all the foils in this collection though, it's fairly difficult to clean up because the glitter gets all over your fingers. 2 coats.
Red-y & Willing is a stunning red shimmer. It provides excellent coverage and is almost a one coater. I'm totally repeating myself, but the formula is excellent, and it goes on very smooth and is completely self-leveling. I compared this to another red shimmer from China Glaze called Long Kiss, and Red-y & Willing has a finer shimmer and is slightly more magenta leaning, while Long Kiss leans more towards burnt orange. 2 coats.
Scandalous Shenanigans is a mid-tone blue, in between a shimmer and metallic. It doesn't have the stunning shimmer seen in the others from this half of the collection. Although I tend to like blues, this was my least favourite out of these. But the formula was great like the others, and I have no issues to report there. 2 coats.
Strike Up A Cosmo is a totally gorgeous rose-gold foil. Like the other foil, the formula is excellent and it goes on very smooth and is completely self-leveling. It also dries very quickly. 2 coats.
Tongue & Chic is a teal shimmer. Like Red-y & Willing and Don't Make Me Wine, the shimmer is very prominent and has that "lit from within" look. The formula is excellent - perfect consistency, very pigmented with excellent coverage, and self-leveling. I found I needed to apply it quickly as it starts to set fast. 2 coats.
Overall, I'm in love with this first half of the collection. The colours are rich, and the three shimmers look absolutely stunning when the light hits them. The foils are fun, and I think they would be great for doing nail art, especially paired with the darker colours from this collection. Some of these colours might not be the most original, but if you don't already have colours like this, I highly recommend all of them. All six of them have an excellent formula and I had no issues with any of them. It's not often I can say that about a collection.
