The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland: Day Three, Poinsettia Flowers

Hi everyone! Tonight's post is a quick one on account of my waning energy levels. For day three of the Digit-al Dozen Winter Wonderland week, I'm doing another holiday design. When I think of the holidays, I think of poinsettia flowers, something my mom would always buy. So I put together this quick, sketchy look, featuring one of my new releases - Renaissance Cosmetics An Eternal Doll.

31 Day Challenge 2.0: Day 12, Intricate

Hi everyone! You may or may not remember the 31 Day Challenge I was doing with The Nail Polish Challenge and Wondrously Polished. Well we decided to take a wee break to catch up on some other stuff. That little break turned into two months (oops!). But we're back with intricate nails, and for that I decided to break out some gorgeous pastel polishes from UNT that were sent to me by Live Love Polish. LLP is an online retailer in New York that has very fast and affordable shipping and a great selection of colourful polishes.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Thankfulness: Day Three, Glitter

Hi everyone! This week has been very busy as I've been gearing up for a Prototype Sale in my shop. I've been mixing up a lot of new polishes, so I thought I'd use two of them for some simple nail art.

As an indie maker (still feels weird to refer to myself that way) I get to play with glitter all the time. But if you told me two or three years ago that I'd have a ginormous glitter collection, I probably would have scoffed at you. Now I have glitters in every colour of the rainbow, in different sizes, finishes, even some cool shapes (although I'm not big into shape glitter). It's such a huge part of making polish, so tonight's mani is my glitter tribute.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral: Day Five, Faded Linen Roses

Hi everyone! I ran out of time towards the end of this week's challenge, so for my last look I put together something that was (relatively) quick. But I think it also puts a twist on your usual flowers.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral: Day Four, Watercolour Poppies

Hi everyone! Remember my watercolour daisies from a few days ago? Well I mentioned that I had done a second look that was very similar - and this is it! Not only that, but I was able to capture a short video of how I painted it, I'll be sharing that on Instagram and YouTube in the very near future.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral: Day Three, Fall Flowers With Essie

Hi everyone! I'm posting this a bit late on account of the fact that I was so exhausted last night I fell asleep around 8pm - yikes! But I have a bit of good news - I finally graduated! It's official, I have my PhD! I posted a picture on my Instagram if you're interested. :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Floral: Day Two, Minimalist Watercolour Daisies

Hi everyone! I'm absolutely in love with the look I created today. If you enjoy subtlety and watercolours, I think you'll be able to appreciate this one. I also did another variation, with a short video, so I'll be posting that later this week.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Florals: Day One, Graphite Flowers

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers out there. I won't be doing the usual turkey dinner, but I will be spending the day with my family, so I'm very grateful for that. I'm also excited to be kicking off another Digit-al Dozen week. Floral nail art is one of my favourite kinds of nail art, so I've been looking forward to this prompt for months.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day 11, Flowers

Hi everyone! I have the first of what will be a lot of floral looks on this blog - next week the Digit-al Dozen also takes on floral nail art. I really love the vintage look of these, and I won't go into too much detail because I also filmed a video for them. I'll be posting that on myYouTube channel hopefully later this week.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Seven, Metallic

Hi everyone! A little reminder that the Digit-al Dozen giveaway is ending soon! The prizes are so fantastic, you really can't miss out on this opportunity!

I have a love/hate relationship with metallic polishes. I remember when the Essie Mirror Metallics collection came out, the swatches were, well, unappealing. Many of the reviews said something to the tune of "These aren't great on their own, but they'd be fantastic for stamping." So I've always seen metallics as stamping polishes. Since I don't stamp, you can probably see why my metallic nails are not that metallic-y.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Four, Secondary Colours

Hi everyone! Before I get into today's post, I'm curious, how are you enjoying the extra nail art this week? Is it too much, or do you like the extra posts? Or do you not care?

Kelli, Lindsey and I still have the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, it's weeks like this where I'm very grateful that we are only doing it 2 days a week. Today, I had the choice between primary (red, yellow and blue) and secondary (green, orange, and purple) colours, and I choose secondary because I love how they look together, and I think they are very fall-like colours.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer, Day Four: Summer Wildflowers...Take Two

Hi everyone! I hope you are not sick of flowers, because I decided to revisit the idea of wildflowers for today's design. This was a look that I had attempted a few days ago, but it didn't turn out so well. Sometimes you need to mess something up so that you can look back on it and figure out what went wrong.

GOT Polish Challenge: Cone Flowers With Sally Hansen Lightening

Hi everyone! I'm still catching up with the "Golden Oldies Thursday" Challenge. Week three was yellow, so I pulled out one of my favourite and most used yellows...Sally Hansen Lightening.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Countries and Cultures, Day Four: Wycinanki-Inspired Nails

Hi everyone! Papercutting is a fascinating art form. It's practiced in many different cultures, and I love that you have both the traditional papercutting styles, and contemporary artists who have taken it up. Wycinanki is the Polish art of papercutting.

I've been wanting to do Wycinanki-inspired nails for so long - I first thought of the idea when OPI released their Euro Centrale collection but just didn't have the time. Ironically, I used many of the Euro Centrale polishes in this design - the bright and colourful cremes were just perfect for this look.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Countries and Cultures, Day Two: Delftware Nail Art

Hi everyone! For day two of Countries and Cultures week I decided to turn to something that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now. Delftware is a type of pottery that came from the Delft region in the Netherlands, you would probably recognize the white background with the blue painted decoration. I love Delftware and I especially love the fact that you can find both historical and contemporary Delftware in a range of styles - whether it’s traditional motifs (windmills, farmers, etc.), floral arrangements, or more contemporary designs.

GOT Polish Challenge: Graphic Lilies With Rescue Beauty Lounge

Hi everyone! I'm trying once again to do the GOT Polish Challenge. If you aren't familiar with it, GOT stands for "Golden Oldies Thursdays." Basically you use something from your stash that is at least a year old. I've started this challenge three times and dropped out after the first two or three prompts. So maybe this time will be a winner!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily

Today's prompt is turquoise, and I had so many great choices, but in the end I went with Rescue Beauty Lounge's Aqua Lily. It's closer to a teal, but still within the turquoise family I think. I bought this beauty when it was rereleased sometime last year, and it sat in the untried pile until now! Shame!

Read on to find out my thoughts on this polish and the nail art I did with it.

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Day 8, Boutique: Gothic Floral With Illamasqua Gothiqua

Hi everyone! I'm plodding along with the Neverending Pile Challenge. For the boutique prompt, I decided to pull out a polish I've been dying to try since I bought it, but never got around to using it. Funny how that works right?! And while I feel only so-so about the polish, I love the nail art.

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Day 5, Jelly: Sunsational Spring Flowers

Hi everyone! I sort of fell off the wagon last week when it comes to the challenges I'm participating in. I find it difficult to do five posts for the Digit-al Dozen, plus do additional posts on top of that. So I'm playing a bit of catch up. Tuesday, I finished a bunch of work that had been hanging over my head, so yesterday I took the day off and got some swatching done, plus I was able to do two challenge manis. It felt really good.

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Day 1, Glitter: Peridot Power and Funky Flowers

Hi everyone! I'm starting a new challenge today. The Neverending Pile Challenge was created by Missy of Gnarly Gnails. If you're interested in joining, it's running through a group on Facebook called the Glittah Pirates (arrrrr!). The point of the challenge is to use your untrieds - those polishes that you bought with good intentions but have sat collecting dust. I have way too many, and with my goal this year to use more of my polishes, this challenge (along with the GOT Challenge) are perfect for me.

GOT Polish Challenge, Pastels: Springtime Florals So Adorable They Defy Categorization!!!

Hi everyone! This title might be a *slight* exaggeration. This is my way of saying, "I don't know what to call this design!" Earlier in the year I started the GOT Polish Challenge, but unfortunately I fell off the bandwagon. Basically you are supposed to use older polishes in your collection - which falls in line with my goal to use what I have instead of buying new polishes. So I'm going to try and jump back into the challenge, at least as much as I can.
