WingDust Collections: Bean Me!, Honest Puck, Somewhere Out There

Hi everyone! First I wanted to thank those of you who took the time to give me some feedback on my last post. I really appreciate that!

Tonight I have three gorgeous polishes from WingDust Collections. If they look familiar it's because they were included in my one year blog anniversary giveaway. I hope that whomever receives these enjoys them as much as I do.

WingDust Collections (l-r): Somewhere Out There, Honest Puck, Bean Me!

It's no surprise that I love this brand. One of the things I love is the fact that Stephanie definitely has her own style when it comes to making polishes. That's not to say that they all look the same, rather they just have a certain touch. I also find it interesting that she's not too hung up on seasonal collections. It's just one gorgeous polish after the other, regardless of the occasion. :)

Wing Dust Collections Perfect Day: Swatches, Review and Some Simple Taping

Hi everyone! Tonight's post features a polish that I've had my eye on forever. I've been wanting Wing Dust Collections Perfect Day ever since it came out in the summer. I was able to get it at a recent restock, and literally the moment I opened my mail I wanted to use it right away! To be honest I see a lot of polish, and it takes a lot to make me excited, so it's great when I come across something so perfect.

And because I'm trying to improve my taping skills, I thought I'd experiment with a simple taped design. I still have a ways to go, but I think I'm improving. ;)

Wing Dust Collections, Swatches and Review: I Ain't No Angel, I Can See Your Holo, and Waking Dream

Hi everyone! Now that all my end of the year/beginning of the year blog posts are out of the way, I can get back to regular blog posts. And for you that means swatches! Even better - all three of these polishes are included in my giveaway! Stephanie, the maker of Wing Dust Collections, was kind enough not only to donate some polishes for the giveaway, but she also sent an extra set so that I could blog about them!

All three of these polishes are stunning as I've come to expect from Wing Dust Collections. Beautiful shimmers, poetic names, and ethereal colours and glitters.

Will Paint Nails for Food Turns One and It's Giveaway Time!!

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago, I quietly celebrated one full year of blogging with a pat on the back and a status update on my Facebook page. On November 30, 2012, I published my first post on this blog, and since then there's been many, many hours poured into this hobby of mine: countless sleep-deprived photo-editing sessions, many nail art frustrations and breakthroughs, many self-doubts, and lots of support from readers and fellow bloggers. Support that I'm incredibly grateful for of course!

WingDust Collections: Lilacs in June, Plum Outta Ideas, and Summer Storm

Hi everyone! I have some gorgeous polishes from WingDust Collections today. If you haven't tried this indie brand yet, you must seriously do so. I would say it's probably one of my favourite indie brands, I feel like every polish is a work of art in a bottle. And I'm not just saying that because it's a Canadian brand, although I do love my Canadian indies! ;)

I haven't shown some WingDust polishes in awhile, but it's mainly because reviews and challenge manis seem to take up much of my time these days. However, when I was editing these photos, it made me want to pull out my untrieds from this brand and swatch them all.

WingDust Collections Summer Storm, Lilacs in June and Plum Outta Ideas

The formula on these were the same. I was able to get full coverage in three coats, and each polish has an excellent formula. They go on very smooth and evenly, with just the perfect amount of glitter - not too little that you can't see it, not too much that the polish is lumpy. Stephanie (the maker) has really perfected her formula for glitter polishes in a creme/shimmer base. I am never disappointed and these are no exception.

Lilacs in June is a dusty pink with a very subtle blue shimmer, as well as a glitter mixture of lime green, periwinkle, lavender,  and some purple hexes in various sizes. Some of the glitter is also holographic and iridescent. I love how feminine and delicate this is. This was 3 coats.

Plum Outta Ideas is an amazing burgundy jelly with fine gold shimmer, and small pink, purple and gold glitter. This is such a perfect colour for any time of year, but especially the fall when I want to be wearing darker colours. 3 coats.

Summer Storm is grey with a purple shimmer, and a beautiful mixture of glitter - silver, pink, fuchsia, purple, and lavender hexes and circles in different sizes. It's a fun play on neutral colours, and I've always loved grey-purple colour combinations, so this was perfect for me.

Again, all polishes were perfect, really no issues in application. Although the shimmers are subtle in some cases, they are all noticeable on the nail. Out of the three, I feel it's hard to select my favourites but I think it's a toss up between Summer Storm and Plum Outta Ideas.

What do you think of these? Have you tried WingDust Collections yet?

WingDust Collections Bean Me Up!, Ocean Tears, and The Deep End

Hi everyone! Happy weekend, or what's left of it. I'm posting some swatches from WingDust Collections today because Stephanie just restocked her Etsy store. If I had my *bleep* together I would have posted these before the restock, but believe me, there's still some great stuff available. You can also check out my other WingDust swatches here.

WingDust Collections The Deep End, Bean Me Up!, and Ocean Tears

I always find Stephanie's creations so creative and stunning. With gorgeous combinations of shimmer and glitter her polishes have this whimsical quality that's just hard to pinpoint and describe. She has a great eye for colour combinations, and when I opened my last package from her I really felt like it was Christmas - each polish just made me gasp!

WingDust Collections The Deep End, Bean Me Up!, and Ocean Tears

I have more WingDust Collections polishes to show you in the future, but for now I hope you enjoy these three I was able to swatch last night. Bean Me Up! and The Deep End are new releases, while Ocean Tears is an older one, but still available.

Bean Me Up! Stephanie describes as an ode to her coffee addiction. If a polish could capture the jitters of a caffeine high, I believe it's this one! It's a brown base linear holo with a combination of copper and teal glitters. The holo effect is strong - stronger than I was able to capture - and the teal and copper glitter complements the brown base perfectly. I used three coats and the application was great - it goes on very smooth and evenly.

Ocean Tears is one that I've had my eye on for quite some time - it was a collaboration between WingDust Collections and Alexis of XOXO Alexis Leigh. I swear Alexis' swatches make me want to buy everything she posts! This is a blue/teal base with a very subtle holo shimmer and small white hexes and holo turquoise hexes. I used three coats here, and the application was generally good, although the formula I found a tad thick - I added a few drops of thinner for the third coat.

The Deep End is a deep purple jelly with a gorgeous hot pink shimmer. The shimmer is hard to capture on camera but very visible in person. It also has a great combination of holo, white and neon pink glitter - the white glitter takes on a purple tone when suspended in the jelly base. I used 3 coats and again, the formula was great - it goes on smooth and the glitter is perfectly suspended.

I honestly can't tell you which one is my favourite of the bunch. I love all three of them. Which one is your favourite? Do you own any WingDust Collections polishes?

Wing Dust Collections: Cotton Candy Kisses and Like Yoda...But Less Green!

Hi everyone! I hope you are up for more Wing Dust Collections picture spam! :) I've got two new (to me) polishes, and as a bonus I've re-swatched Bonfire Under the Stars to show you another way you can wear it.

Wing Dust Collections Like Yoda...But Less Green! and Cotton Candy Kisses

There's a lot of photos to show, so let's take a look!

Cotton Candy Kisses is a very pale lavender shimmer with a subtle holo shimmer and holo glitter. It also has blue flecks that are visible when worn on its own, but not visible when layered over a darker colour. It's a versatile polish - you can wear it on it's own (it would probably take 2-3 coats), or you can layer it over another polish. For these swatches I've used one coat over OPI Vant To Bite My Neck? but I also tried it over a nude polish and really enjoyed that. No issues with the formula.

Like Yoda...But Less Green! is so *amazing* and I'm glad I added this to my order. At first I was worried it would be too much like Prize-Winning Petunia (reviewed here), but it's not. You can completely justify getting both! ;)

Wing Dust Collections Like Yoda...But Less Green!

Wing Dust Collections Like Yoda...But Less Green!

Like Yoda... is a purple jelly with a linear holo. There's also small holo and lavender glitter. It's a bit cooler in tone than Prize-Winning Petunia, and the vibrant linear holo also makes this a stand out. I used three coats and found it applied easily. I did need to add a few drops of thinner, but otherwise no issues to report.

After I showed you Bonfire Under the Stars (reviewed here), Stephanie, the maker, suggested I try it over black. I did, and it's absolutely stunning, so of course I had to share that with you! It reminds me of galaxy nails. What do you prefer: Bonfire Under the Stars on it's own or over black?

Wing Dust Collections is available through their Etsy shop. Right now all but Cotton Candy Kisses are out of stock. You can also get these through Llarowe, and a bunch of Wing Dust Collections polishes were just restocked today including Bonfire Under the Stars and Like Yoda...But Less Green! (and Prize-Winning Petunia, Day Dreamer, Blue Steel, I Am Yours & You Are Mine...). You can also follow Wing Dust Collections on Facebook and Instagram (@wingdust).

Wing Dust Collections: Bonfire Under the Stars, Day Dreamer, and Prize-Winning Petunia

Hi everyone! Are you ready for some more gorgeous Wing Dust Collections polishes!? I hope so, because I sure am! With every new polish I try, I love this brand more and more. If you missed my previous swatches of Wing Dust Collections polishes, you can find that here.

Wing Dust Collections Bonfire Under the Stars, Prize-Winning Petunia,
and Day Dreamer

All swatches are shown with a coat of Seche Vite. And because the shimmer is so important to these, I've also included photos taken directly under my lamp in addition to light box photos.

Bonfire Under the Stars is quite the chameleon and a difficult polish to describe, but I will try. It's a taupe/nude jelly with a faint purple/green duochrome shimmer. It has small holo and aqua hex glitter in addition to what appears to be a scattered holo shimmer. It's rather sheer, so you may want to layer it, but I used four coats for these swatches. For most people, three will work. This is such a unique polish, and the name, along with the flickers of shimmer, remind me of summers around the bonfire. My aunt and uncle were especially known for their end of summer/Labour Day party with the huge bonfire. :)

Day Dreamer is white to grey in colour depending on the lighting. It has a subtle linear holo along with small silver, white, pastel and iridescent glitter. I absolutely love this one, it is so delicate and ethereal! <3 This one is also very sheer so I used four coats here. I had no issues with the formula.

Prize-Winning Petunia is another stunner, and immediately caught my eye when I saw it swatched by Crystal over at Crystal's Crazy Combos. It's a warm-toned purple jelly and the colour leans towards a magenta. It has a scattered holo shimmer along with pink, lavender, periwinkle, and iridescent hex glitter, and aqua square glitter. I used three coats for this one, and I found it to be a tad thick so I added some thinner. Otherwise I had no issues with the formula. I really love the colour and the shimmer of this polish, like the others, it is quite striking!

Wing Dust Collections: Blue Steel, I Am Yours & You Are Mine, and Sleepless Summer Nights

Hi everyone! I have a bunch of new Wing Dust Collections polishes to show you - I'll be showing some today and the rest over the course of next week. I hope you are ready for some serious sparkle picture spam!

Wing Dust Collections is the brainchild of Stephanie, who lives just north of Toronto. We originally connected on Facebook when I messaged her about local pickup (I live in Toronto). Unfortunately we weren't able to meet up, but I'm so happy to have a bunch of her polishes, they are gorgeous and absolutely shimmery!

Wing Dust Collections (L-R): Blue Steel, I Am Yours & You Are Mine,
and Sleepless Summer Nights

Because each polish has a beautiful luminosity and shimmer to it, I've included photos under direct lighting in addition to the photos taken in my lightbox.

Blue Steel is meant to be layered over another polish. It has a very sheer blue base with purple/iridescent shimmer and iridescent foil flakes. For this I layered two coats over a watercolour mani that I did with various dark blues, a purple, and black (see photo). The polish is not densely packed with flakes, so I found it had a more subtle effect, but when it catches the light it is very stunning. I did find that some of the flakes wanted to poke up, so it helps to have an orange stick or something else on hand to tame any loose ends.

I Am Yours & You Are Mine is a squishy berry-coloured jelly packed with a fuchsia/gold shimmer and small pink, gold, and dark purple hex glitter. It's a bit thick but very workable, and I used three coats here, although you could get away with two. I found it levelled perfectly, was very smooth, and as a bonus it was completely non-staining. I really love the colour on this one, it's so vibrant and eye-catching!

Sleepless Summer Nights is a dark teal green jelly, also very squishy. It has what appears to be a pink/bronze shimmer. It also has a ton of glitter: gold, lime green, blue, brown/burgundy hex glitter, and silver and blue stars. I used three coats here - you could get away with two, but I found the polish had more depth and vibrancy with three coats. Despite all the glitter it dried very smooth. I did, however, find that it was slightly staining, but that's typical with teal greens/blues and it wasn't too bad. For me, this polish has a mysteriousness about it that I love, it reminds me of the deep sea or the night sky.
