The Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage: Victorian Floral with SoFlaJo Pink If You Love Me

Hi everyone! When it comes to vintage, Victorian style roses are an obvious choice. But in this case it was the perfect choice to feature SoFlaJo's Pink If You Love Me. This is from their Valentine's Day collection, and it's such a beautiful dusty pink holo - perfect for anytime of the year.

Sweet Stained Glass Nail Art With Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk and XOXO

Hi everyone! Are you having a fabulous weekend? I feel like every weekend I'm playing the catch-up game...a game that I never win. Lol! Awhile back I was sent a few polishes from Rainbow Honey to review, including two sweet shades from their Sweet Talk collection, their Valentine's Day collection from last year. This year they came out with Sweet Talk 2, which looks as gorgeous as the first part.

Introducing the Renaissance Custom Lacquer Love...Everyday Collection

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I have no excuse besides laziness and spending a bit too much time with Netflix...that thing is totally addicting.

I have the new Valentine's Day collection from my indie brand, Renaissance Cosmetics. These polishes will go on sale tomorrow, Friday January 24th, at 12pm (noon) EST at Renaissance Cosmetics. At the same time we'll be restocking the popular L'Hiver! So if you missed out the first time, now is your chance to get it!

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk Collection Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! Valentine's Day has come and gone, but I recently received my first Rainbow Honey order. It included the lovely Sweet Talk collection, so naturally I had to share these beauties with you!

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk collection

The collection includes three polishes - one sheer with glitter, one creme with shimmer, and one glitter topper. I also received an extra one (My Love) as a bonus for spending more than $50. My Love was a special Valentine's Day release so I don't know if it is still available.

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk collection

This is my first experience with Rainbow Honey and I have to say I am really impressed. I would recommend this collection to anyone who likes really girly pink colours. Each polish was very easy to apply and flattering on the nails.

Be Mine is definitely my favourite of the collection. It's a pink creme with a gold flake shimmer. The pink colour is rather interesting - a bit muted, but also with slight peach undertones - and it is a very flattering colour on me. I find some pinks scream "Barbie Hands!!" but not this one. The formula was perfect and I used three coats here.

Sweet Talk is a sheer white polish with pale ice blue, red and purple hexes. The glitter here is tiny to small in size so it is not overwhelming. There's also a subtle pink shimmer but it's only slightly visible on the nail. This is three coats and I finished with a coat of Gelous and Seche Vite because the glitter made it a bit bumpy.

XOXO is a clear-based glitter topper with an iridescent shimmer, gold micro-glitter, and tiny and small red hexes. It also seems to have some holo micro-glitter. It is not very densely packed, but it has lots of shimmer, which I love. I used two coats over Julep Ava here.

My Love was the bonus polish I received, and it is not part of the Sweet Talk collection. This is an amazing shimmery glitter topper. There's an iridescent/pink shimmer, tiny gold and holo hex glitter, and sheer white and pink hearts. This is one coat over China Glaze Sea Spray. The hearts are a bit more sparse and you will need to turn the bottle upside down and shake it to distribute them.

As I said I was really happy with this collection, and I will definitely be wearing these again. If you don't like pink, I think it goes without saying that this collection will not appeal to you. I love that the formula on each one is great. As much as I love indies, I find they can be hit and miss sometimes. The packaging is also wonderful and adds to the appeal of these polishes.

I bought these directly from Rainbow Honey but you can also get them from Shoppe Eclecticco, but they only seem to be carrying Be Mine and XOXO.

What do you think of these? Do you own any Rainbow Honey? Any recommendations for my future orders from them? ;)

My Bloody Valentine

Hi everyone! This is my entry in the Harlow & Co. Facebook Valentine's Day nail art contest. The only requirements for the contest were that you had to enter something new and it had to incorporate at least one polish sold at Harlow & Co. I wasn't really interested in doing something cute or lovey-dovey, so I decided to do a mani based on the theme of "my bloody valentine."

My Bloody Valentine, you may know, is the name of two slasher films - a 1981 film, and the 2009 remake. I wasn't exactly trying to recreate the movie, but rather just the general idea behind that title "my bloody valentine."

"My Bloody Valentine" manicure

For this design, I used piCture pOlish White Wedding for the white, and then piCture pOlish Vampire for the drips and the hearts. It's a very simple design and I'm happy with how it turned out. If you've never done a drip mani, it's very easy. You take the colour that your going to "drip" and you paint it along the tip of your nail. Then using your dotting tool you dot where the drip will end, and then drag the dotting tool up to the tip. I used a teeny tiny dotting tool for the hearts. I wanted them to look, ummm, streaky and a bit messy.

The idea for this design actually came to me before Halloween. I wanted to combine White Wedding and Vampire in a drip mani but didn't have the time. But the idea popped back into my head when I was thinking of ideas for this contest. Doing an anti-Valentine's design was also something that appealed to me.

You can see my entry as well as the other contest entries on the Harlow & Co. Facebook page.
