Bellaluna Cosmetics Dreams Come True Collection (Partial), Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I've been absent I know - work and life has been keeping me busy. For the last several months I've been job hunting and I'm finally happy to say that I got a full time job for this school year (I teach university). Yay! I'll be honest, I don't know what it means for this blog but I'll post some sort of update when I am able to.

Bellaluna Dreams Come True collection (partial)

The Bellaluna Dreams Come True collection is based on Disney fairy tales. These have been out for awhile but they are still available, so if you see something you like, I encourage you to check out Samantha's Etsy shop. I'll review each polish individually then offer some thoughts at the end.

I See The Light is a warm lavender with tiny microflake shimmer. I like Bellaluna's delicate shimmers and this is a nice colour. I had some difficulties with the formula - I found it a bit thick, but a few drops of thinner fixed that. This was 3 coats.

Missing Slipper is a clear-based glitter topper with tiny silver holo glitter. I'd say this is comparable to China Glaze Fairy Dust, but the glitter is not as fine. I used one coat over Once Upon a Dream, and the formula was good.

Off To Neverland is a deep teal blue jelly with silver holo glitter and shards. If you like jellies, this is a nice one - the colour is very rich and the formula is good. I think I used 3 coats for these swatches, although I may have used two. (sorry!)

Once Upon a Dream is a very girly pink with shimmer. Formula-wise it was comparable to I See the Light - it needed some drops of thinner, but otherwise it was good. I used 3 coats for these swatches.

Final thoughts:

Overall, this is a very nice collection, and I really like the softer colours. There's two more, which I didn't receive, I think I would have really liked the aquamarine blue one. I don't really like adding thinner to brand new polishes, but that's my preference; otherwise, I didn't have an issue with these polishes. My pick: Once Upon a Dream.

  7. Congratulations again Meghan! I See The Light is so pretty, shame it was on the thicker side. I prefer thin formulas too!
