About this design:
I was really happy with the nail art I did for day one, so I decided to look at more botanical art for inspiration. I found this great image of a squash vine that I felt would work well as nail art. The site I got it from was pretty sketchy so instead of potentially spreading nasty viruses, I've included the image in my post. If anyone has a source credit for this image, please feel free to email me. :)

To get this look:
I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff, and painted the squash vine freehand using acrylics. I start by sketching in the basic design with really diluted acrylic. Then I built it up by working in layers. So for the leaves, I filled them in with dark green, and when it was dry (like 2-3 minutes) I added a lighter shade of green on top. I had to work with very thin layers because my paints are slow drying and thicker layers do not work with a top coat. I added some white in the background to make the vines and leaves stand out.

I topped it with Girly Bits What a Rush and Essie Matte About You. The brush is my Glamor 1 brush from Stylish Nail Art on Etsy.

Final thoughts:
I wish I had added some more flowers, but I was trying to stick to the original design so that I would not mess it up. But I like how it looks and it's a different style of painting than yesterday's more washy look.
