Lynnderella Magic Fairy Stars, Swatches and Nail Art

Hi everyone! For the past few months, I have been very excited about Lynnderella polishes. I've been collecting them for about two years now, ever since they started shipping to Canada. But I go through phases - there's the "must buy all the Lynns!!" phase, followed by a cool off period. This seems to repeat itself every couple of months. Lately though, I've been really fascinated as a maker by the different combinations of glitters that Lynn does. It's inspired me to make more glitter bombs, even though it's something I struggle with.

About this polish:

Magic Fairy Stars (MFS) is an exclusive for the Lynnderella Facebook fan group. It's mostly a clear-based glitter topper although it does have a subtle blue shimmer. Also, it has a mix of turquoise, purple, pink, and periwinkle glitter - mainly hexes and squares, but there's also moons and tiny silver stars.

When I saw it in the bottle I wasn't too impressed - don't get me wrong, it's very nice. But I wasn't wowed. However, that changed when I wore it, and suddenly there was no regrets. The subtle shimmer and tiny stars really makes this polish stand out for me. The swatch shows one coat over China Glaze Five Rules topped with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze. Application was perfect and there was no need to fish for glitter.

The nail art:

I decided to go with a simple mix 'n' match look to complement MFS. Although when I do stuff like this, I end up spending a lot of time searching through my stash for the perfect colours to match. So simple doesn't necessarily mean quick. ;)

The pink base is Essie Romper Room. For the stripes I used Romper Room, China Glaze What a Pansy, Sinful Shine Alfresco, and Essie No Place Like Chrome. On my pinky I have Julie G Blueberry Fizz. I topped it off with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze and Cult Nails Wax That.

    1. Thank you! The polishes are on the higher end in terms of price, but the quality and customer service makes it worth it, IMO. And I use them to reward myself when I complete stuff, so I don't mind that they cost more because it feels like a treat. :)

  5. OMG ! Meghan always has nails !
Some Lynnderella’s polishes are something of the miracle. They’re absolutely unique in their kind and their high price is perfectly justified.
I find that Lynnderella is much stronger for clear colors than for the dark. To date their most beautiful collection is Everything’s Coming up Neon.
By contrast, given the swatchs, Fall In Love with New York Collection didn’t excite me a lot and I would have actually better made not buy 6 polishes of this collection, at least 4 microglitters. Very very big disappointment when I tried them. They are really common. But really.
Thus solemn call to Lynnderella : microglitters forget it and return to what you’re good. Or maybe, look a little bit closer at what Meghan, her, makes with microglitters :-)

  7. Yay for the stripe-y look - do love it!
And even though I'm not one to be wowed by glitter-bomb polishes (there's always too much going on), this one's quite pretty, actually :)

  8. Nice glitters, it looks great on you :) I love the mani you created with it ! But to be honest with you there's a little bit too much going on in this kind of nail polish for me !

  13. This is a perfect view on the polish which I just picked up in a de stash - even though less than new, it's still a chunk and didn't want to buy without research. Is there still an FB group ? I looked but only saw a public page ? Thanks so much !

    1. Yes there is! It's called "The Glitter Fairies~ for fans of Lynnderella". If you go to the Love Lynnderella FB public page (probably the one you saw), you can send a message asking to join the group.

I hope this helps, and thanks for your comment. :)
