Lynnderella Attitude Adjust-Mint, Swatches and Nail Art

Hi everyone! I was inspired by Peachy Polish's Lynnderella Monday series to pull out some of my own Lynnderella polishes. I don't show these polishes often, but they are some of my favourite in my collection. Every time I look at them, I want to mix up some glitter. To challenge myself I thought I'd do some simple nail art along with the swatches. I find glitters can be hard to incorporate into nail art.  Most of the time I end up doing accent nails with varying degrees of success. So we'll see how you feel about today's look. ;)

Lynnderella Attitude Adjust-Mint

About this polish:

Attitude Adjust-Mint is one of the earliest Lynnderella releases. It's from the Funny Money collection that came out in November 2011. It's got a very, very sheer mint base with a mix of mint shimmer and iridescent hex glitter. It's also got what looks like some gold or light metallic green glitter. I've layered this over mint polishes, but the base is so sheer you can actually layer it over a lot of colours.

My swatches show one coat over a gradient of Pure Ice Superstar! (white) and Essie Fashion Playground. The formula was great and you get good glitter payoff with one coat, but two would add some extra shimmer. I topped it with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze.

The nail art:

I wanted to pair this polish with some cute dots and some silver (or silver-ish) glitter. I started with two coats of Attitude Adjust-Mint over a base of Pure Ice Home Run - this mint is close to Essie Fashion Playground but has better coverage. For the dots I started with Pure Ice Superstar! and used Home Run and Essie Beyond Cozy with a small dotting tool. The pinky is two coats of Beyond Cozy.

I topped it all off with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze and Essie Matte About You. For me the matte finish really makes this stand out. I love what it does to Attitude Adjust-Mint, and I never get tired of matte dots. :)

Availability:

Attitude Adjust-Mint was a core polish but is now discontinued and no longer available. European customers can find it at Norway Nails. You might also be able to get a bottle second hand, hopefully for a reasonable price.

What do you think of this polish? Do you prefer the glossy or matte version better?

  1. I love simple nail art like this. I think the matte finish is what makes it a wintertime mani!

    1. Thanks Red! I'm trying to mix things up - some more simple nail art in addition to the more complex stuff. Glad you like it. :)

  8. I feel the same about glitters and nail art :) somehow I find it difficult to come up with something different than a glitter gradient ;) love that glitter. Sadly I don't own any Lynnderella. I prefer the matte version :)
