The Polish Bar Late Summer 2015 Collection (Partial), Swatches and Review

Hello everyone! I’m back with a few polishes from The Polish Bar’s Late Summer 2015 collection. I’ve had the pleasure to review The Polish Bar several times (hereherehere, and here) and these did not disappoint. The collection consists of seven polishes named after some gorgeous beaches scattered around the globe. I reviewed four - two holos and two crellies. In short, I found the crellies slightly difficult to work with, but still very good polishes. The holos are excellent and my favourite Polish Bar polishes to date.

Lynnderella Venus in Copper, Swatches and Nail Art

Hi everyone! As I mentioned in my last post, I moved to Georgia recently. I've been here almost two weeks now, and it's been a whirlwind of getting used to the area, work meetings, and setting everything up (bank, phone, driver's license, car, yikes!). And that doesn't even include unpacking - I'm still waiting for the movers to arrive with my stuff (they said "before Christmas"...groan!). Luckily I haven't passed out from the heat, but wow, I've never been so thankful for air conditioning.

The Great Destash! How to Get Your Grab Bag!

Update: I'm no longer offering grab bags - please don't send any money, it will be returned immediately. Thank you everyone who took advantage of my offer, and I'm sorry to those of you who contacted me after I ran out. I was very surprised by the amount of emails I received regarding this, however, I'm happy that my polishes will be going to good homes. :) In total I sent out about 450 polishes, and gave away another 100-200 locally.

Hi everyone! I mentioned in my last post that I got a new job for the fall. Well that job requires a big move - from Toronto to Georgia (USA), and in exactly two weeks, movers will be here to pick up all my beloved possessions. Moving is never easy, but I'm finding an international move has an extra level of complexity - I'll definitely be a basket case for the next two weeks!

I've been going through my stuff and paring down as much as possible, and that includes my nail polish collection. While I'd love to take all my pretties to the States with me, I just can't afford to ship 1000+ polishes. And since I don't have local friends who are into nail polish, I thought they'd be better off going back to the nail community.

Bellaluna Cosmetics Dreams Come True Collection (Partial), Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I've been absent I know - work and life has been keeping me busy. For the last several months I've been job hunting and I'm finally happy to say that I got a full time job for this school year (I teach university). Yay! I'll be honest, I don't know what it means for this blog but I'll post some sort of update when I am able to.

Bellaluna Dreams Come True collection (partial)

The Bellaluna Dreams Come True collection is based on Disney fairy tales. These have been out for awhile but they are still available, so if you see something you like, I encourage you to check out Samantha's Etsy shop. I'll review each polish individually then offer some thoughts at the end.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature, Day Five: Mountain Landscape

Hi everyone! At the end of a Digit-al Dozen week I always feel exhausted, no doubt because I'm not used to posting five days a week. However, I really enjoyed this week's theme, and was happy with what I came up with. I also really appreciate everyone's comments - after my sporadic blogging these past few months, it's been nice to read all the encouraging words. So thank you!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature, Day Four: Peas and Carrots

Hi everyone! Today I have a very cute and simple design that hopefully will leave you craving for veggies! I decided to interpret the nature theme for this week rather loosely, and since veggies are plants, I couldn't resist.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature, Day Three: Squash Vine

Hi everyone! I've got the third instalment of my nature-themed manis for you today. I forget how much work these weeks can be, but luckily my fourth design is already completed and I just need to come up with one more! For today I decided to do another design based on a botanical drawing. This one was a lot more work to complete, but I'm happy with the results.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature, Day Two: Floral Watercolour

Hi everyone! I'm back with another nature-themed design for Digit-al Dozen week. I decided to do another floral design, perhaps because it's a safe choice, but also because I enjoy them the most. I also wanted to work on my watercolour technique and do something more complex than previous looks I've done. There was a point while painting this, that I thought it was going to turn out awful, but in the end, I'm happy with the final design.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Nature, Day One: Poppy Seed Pods

Hi everyone! My schedule has eased up lately so I'm able to participate in this month's Digit-al Dozen challenge. I've been feeling uninspired about blogging and nails in general, so I hope that this will help me get back into the swing of things. And it couldn't be a better month - this week's theme is nature, which is right up my alley.

Lynnderella Magic Fairy Stars, Swatches and Nail Art

Hi everyone! For the past few months, I have been very excited about Lynnderella polishes. I've been collecting them for about two years now, ever since they started shipping to Canada. But I go through phases - there's the "must buy all the Lynns!!" phase, followed by a cool off period. This seems to repeat itself every couple of months. Lately though, I've been really fascinated as a maker by the different combinations of glitters that Lynn does. It's inspired me to make more glitter bombs, even though it's something I struggle with.

The Latest From Renaissance Cosmetics: The Sweet & Sassy Duo

Hi everyone! Work has been keeping me busy and exhausted lately, so I'm just getting around to posting these new polishes I released in my shop last week. I've been loving the new multichrome flakies that became available recently. Because so many brands have released flakie toppers of just flakes in base, I've been experimenting with other ways to use them. These two polishes are the result of some of those experiments.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairytales, Day Four: The Seven Ravens by Brothers Grimm

Hi everyone! This post is horribly late I know. My work schedule the last three weeks has been the worst. I'm not going to apologize, I just want to let you know posting is going to be sporadic for awhile, but I'm not disappearing. ;)

I was able to complete one final fairytales-themed mani before my work got overwhelming. I really love how this turned out, and it may be one of my favourites from this theme.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairy Tales, Day Three: Rapunzel by Brothers Grimm

Hi everyone! Tonight's nail art almost didn't happen. And while it didn't turn out as expected, I'm quite happy to just be posting this. For Day Three of Digit-al Dozen week, I took on the story of Rapunzel - the author is unknown, but it was compiled and published by Brothers Grimm.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairy Tales, Day Two: The Star Money by Brothers Grimm

Hi everyone! How are you enjoying the Digit-al Dozen members' fairy tale-inspired designs? I don't know about you, but I find it interesting to see what the other Digit-al Dozen members have come up with, and what stories inspired them. For day two, I have another new-to-me fairy tale - The Star Money by Brothers Grimm.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairy Tales, Day One: The Angel by Hans Christian Andersen

Hi everyone! I've been a bit absent due to my very, very hectic work schedule, but I'm making an effort to contribute to this week's Digit-al Dozen theme. We're taking on fairy tales, and I already know this week is going to be a challenge!! I'm trying to do a mix of well known and lesser known fairy tales, so for this first one I turned to The Angel by Hans Christian Andersen as my inspiration.

Lynnderella Attitude Adjust-Mint, Swatches and Nail Art

Hi everyone! I was inspired by Peachy Polish's Lynnderella Monday series to pull out some of my own Lynnderella polishes. I don't show these polishes often, but they are some of my favourite in my collection. Every time I look at them, I want to mix up some glitter. To challenge myself I thought I'd do some simple nail art along with the swatches. I find glitters can be hard to incorporate into nail art.  Most of the time I end up doing accent nails with varying degrees of success. So we'll see how you feel about today's look. ;)

My Top 10 Nail Art Posts of 2014

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! This year has really been a struggle for me in terms of blogging. In between my almost two month hiatus to finish my dissertation, and my busy schedule these last 2-3 months to build my indie brand, I didn't post as much as I had hoped. Many of my blog goals from the beginning of the year were not achieved, which is why I won't be making blog goals for 2015. Despite that, looking back at this year's posts, I can see my nail art improving by leaps and bounds. I was also surprised by the variety and the risks I took to try new things, instead of sticking to what I felt I was good at.

I started with over two dozen designs that I felt were very strong. And I was able to narrow that down to only ten. So these are the designs that really stood out, designs where I felt I pushed my creative abilities. I hope you enjoy! Click on the titles to be taken to the original post.
