31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Eight, Dotticure

Hi everyone! I hope next week to get caught up on this nail art challenge. In the meantime, I have what I hope is a clever take on a dot manicure. For whatever reason, when I brainstormed ideas for this day, I thought of Pac-Man, who is basically a little dot that eats dots. Lol! And since I'm old enough to remember the original Pac-Man, I decided to go retro in trying to recreate the popular game.

Submit Your Fall Nail Art For the Next "From the Readers" Feature

Hi everyone! Last year, you may recall that I did a "From the Readers" series on easy nail art tips and techniques. And it was great, it was awesome, and I never did it again! Why?! I loved the amazing submissions and the response, and I've been thinking for a long time of reviving that idea. How would you feel about a quarterly or bi-monthly "From the Readers" post?

Bonita Salon Witches Ball Collection For Halloween 2014

Hi everyone! Lately I've been feeling bored when it comes to drugstore polishes, but that changed when I saw my friend Lindsey's swatches of Bonita Colors over at Wondrously Polished. Bonita Colors is a new brand that came on the market earlier this year. They have several different lines, the Salon line is supposed to be their more expensive line, but at $3.99 a pop they are incredibly cheap.

Unfortunately they are not available in Canada, so when I'm in the US I beg someone to take me to Rite Aid so I can pick some up. I was able to get this Halloween collection a few weeks ago, thanks to my friend Joy. Thanks Joy!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Seven, Metallic

Hi everyone! A little reminder that the Digit-al Dozen giveaway is ending soon! The prizes are so fantastic, you really can't miss out on this opportunity!

I have a love/hate relationship with metallic polishes. I remember when the Essie Mirror Metallics collection came out, the swatches were, well, unappealing. Many of the reviews said something to the tune of "These aren't great on their own, but they'd be fantastic for stamping." So I've always seen metallics as stamping polishes. Since I don't stamp, you can probably see why my metallic nails are not that metallic-y.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Six, Monochromatic

Hi everyone! I'm very behind in posting my monochromatic nails for the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0. My fellow challenge partners-in-crime, Kelli and Lindsey, have already posted theirs, so make sure you check that out (links are at the end of the post).

I wanted to do a variation on my black-and-white nails from earlier this week. The design is very similar but instead of trying to follow my original source, I just did my own thing. And since the design is rather intricate I put together a step-by-step tutorial for you!

Born Pretty Store Review: Iridescent Acrylic Rhinestones

Hi everyone! I received some new products as a gift from the Born Pretty Store (sort of a thank you present from my rep), including a set of clear acrylic rhinestones. I ended up using them for some simple nail art, so I thought I'd do a review for you!

In addition to having some product photographs, I also compare them to a previous set that I reviewed. I think both sets are nice but there are definite differences between the two.

KBShimmer Fall 2014: Flannel Surfing, How You Dune?, and Kiss and Spell

Hi everyone! KBShimmer released their latest collection on Monday, and in case you're still debating what to get, I have some swatches that might help. I look forward to seeing what they will come out with each season, and this collection has been particularly strong. Luckily, Harlow & Co. sent me some to review, so read on to hear my thoughts on these!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Five, Black and White

Hi everyone! Just a reminder that the Digit-al Dozen giveaway is still going on! There's tons of prizes and it's open internationally!!

Kelli, Lindsey and I are continuing with the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0. I felt immense pressure to do something spectacular for today. Last year I did what was one of my most favourite designs. I love it so much that it made my list of top nail art designs for 2013, and I still use it for my Facebook and Twitter pages.

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Terrific Twos, Day Five: Cotton - Take Two!

Hi everyone! We've come to the end of Digit-al Dozen week. As much as I've liked some of the prompts, I'll admit I found this week very challenging so I'm okay with moving on. We've been celebrating our second anniversary, and for the final day we had the choice of repeating a prompt. I choose to do cotton again which is the traditional gift for a second wedding anniversary.

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Terrific Twos, Day Four: China Patterns

Hi everyone! I have a quick, late night post for you tonight! As part of The Digit-al Dozen's two year anniversary celebration, we're taking on a variety of themes, and today it happens to be china patterns. China (the dishes, not the country) is a "modern" gift for a second wedding anniversary, so it seemed only fitting to take on this idea while we pat ourselves on the back for making it this long.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Four, Secondary Colours

Hi everyone! Before I get into today's post, I'm curious, how are you enjoying the extra nail art this week? Is it too much, or do you like the extra posts? Or do you not care?

Kelli, Lindsey and I still have the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, it's weeks like this where I'm very grateful that we are only doing it 2 days a week. Today, I had the choice between primary (red, yellow and blue) and secondary (green, orange, and purple) colours, and I choose secondary because I love how they look together, and I think they are very fall-like colours.

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Terrific Twos, Day Three: Sapphire

Hi everyone! Continuing on with The Digit-al Dozen two year anniversary celebration, today's theme takes on the birthstone for September - sapphires. I've always loved birthstones ever since I was a little girl, and I still have my birthstone ring my grandmother gave to all of the granddaughters. And I remember secretly wishing I was born in October so that I could have an opal for my birthstone. But of course that never happened - life is cruel sometimes!

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Terrific Twos, Day Two: Cotton

Hi everyone! Yesterday the Digit-al Dozen tackled pairs of things, and today it's cotton. So you might be thinking "what gives with these themes?" Things may seem scattered, but the themes this week all have to do with twos (things in pairs), anniversaries, or the month of September. We're celebrating our anniversary after all. Today's theme, cotton, is the traditional gift for a second wedding anniversary.

The Digit-al Dozen 2nd Anniversary Giveaway!

Hi everyone! You may have seen this already floating around the blogosphere, if not you are in for an absolute treat! The Digit-al Dozen is proud to celebrate two full years as a group, and to celebrate we put together a fabulous giveaway with some amazing sponsors. If the graphic doesn't tell you how epic this thing is, I don't know what will convince you!

The Digit-al Dozen Does The Terrific Twos, Day One: Things That Come in Pairs

Hi everyone! As I mentioned in my last blog post, I'll be posting extra this week. That's because this happens to be Digit-al Dozen week. And this one is special because it's the second anniversary of the group. I haven't been with the group for the whole time, but I'm happy to be celebrating alongside everyone.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Three, Blue

Hi everyone! This is my first post for the evening, you're going to be seeing a lot of my nails this week. So if I'm not "talking" as much, it's not cause I don't like you, it's just because of the extra posts. Kelli, Lindsey and I are continuing with the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, and today I had the choice between blue and violet. Naturally I chose blue and decided to revisit one of my favourite styles - stained glass.

Mrs. P's Nail Potions, Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I have another Canadian indie brand that's new to this blog. Mrs. P's Nail Potions hails from Edmonton (brrrr!!) and I've known about the brand for awhile but only recently got the chance to try them when Bree, the maker, reached out and asked me to review some.

The brand is mostly known for their thermal polishes (called mood potions), scented top coats, and colour-shifting sheer polishes. They also have some regular glitters and crellies with glitter. I was sent two thermals and a crelly to try out, so read on to hear my thoughts on these polishes.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, Day Two: Green

Hi everyone! I'm back with another day of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0! For this day, I had the choice between green or yellow, so it was a no-brainer. I don't own too many yellows, and the ones I like I've used a lot lately. So green it is!

The 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, Day One: Red

Hi everyone! Today's the day that myself, Kelli of The Nail Polish Challenge, and Lindsey from Wondrously Polished start our challenge. In case you missed it, I introduced it in this post. All of us have done the original 31 Day Challenge, and we felt like we wanted to do something a bit different this year, so we modified it to make it more interesting, and more challenging!

Amazing Chic Nails, Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I have a few polishes from a relatively new Canadian indie brand for you tonight. I first found out about Amazing Chic Nails because I'm in a group for Canadian indie makers along with Fiona, the maker. Even though she's one of the new kids on the block, Fiona has some great colours, and the formula of her polishes are spot on.

I'm reviewing two shades from the Late Summer collection, and two from the Autumn collection. The Autumn collection is available starting today (September 1st) at noon.
