The Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland, Day Five: Holiday Ornaments

Hi everyone! It's very late here, so this will be a short post. For the final day of Digit-al Dozen week I wanted to do something I've done several times before. I tend to do holiday ornaments at least once per year (see here for the 2012 and here for the 2013 versions). This year I was inspired by Wondrously Polished's cute vintage ornaments from earlier this week, but of course I put my own spin on them.

To get this look:

I sketched out the shapes of the ornaments using a fine detail brush and black polish thinned with polish thinner. I painted in the designs, then added touches of gold where necessary. The last step was to outline the ornaments and add the strings.

  • Gold: Orly Luxe
  • Outlines: Cult Nails Nevermore

Final thoughts:

I think these are my favourite ornaments to date, and I've come along way since 2012. With the exception of Luxe, the Orly polishes come from the fall Smokey collection and add a bit of an ornate, sophisticated feeling to the look.

    1. Thanks Christine! I didn't set out to make it look vintage, but it's nice that it ended up that way. :)

    1. Thanks! I use a brush called Pure Color Glamor 1 from Stylish Nail Art on Etsy. The shop has been closed for some time, so I don't like to advertise it, as it's not really helpful to my readers.
