Bellaluna Cosmetics Holiday Glimmer and Snowden, Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I have a new indie brand on the blog tonight. Bellaluna Cosmetics is based in the US and opened their Etsy store last month. I was pleasantly surprised with their offerings - they have a nice selection of shimmers and glitters, and the quality is very good for a new brand. I got two polishes from the winter collection, but really you could enjoy these year round.

Bellaluna Snowden and Holiday Glimmer

The polishes:

Holiday Glimmer is a sheer pink with fine pink micro glitter and fine holo glitter. You could wear this on its own, but it would need 3-4 coats (maybe more) to reach full coverage, so I decided to layer it. These swatches show one coat over Trust Fund Beauty I Had It First, which is also very sheer. It's a pretty colour but I wish it wasn't so sheer. The formula is good though, and I had no issues with the application.

Snowden is a beautiful pale blue with blue shimmer and a subtle scattered holo. It dries matte and with a slight texture, but it smooths out with top coat. Can you tell this is my favourite? I love the colour and shimmer. The formula was also great, no issues to report. This was 3 coats.

Final thoughts:

Both polishes are very nice, and while I didn't care for the sheerness of Holiday Glimmer, you can layer it for a really nice effect. One thing to note is that the polishes come with a hang tag that has the polish name on it. I personally found these very annoying so I took them off, and now the polishes don't have polish names on them. I hope the maker changes this. :(
Update: The maker tells me that the polishes now have bottom labels with the name of the polish. Also all bottles have clear labels on the front!

Availability:

Bellaluna polishes are available on Etsy, and retail for $8.50. Also follow Bellaluna on Facebook for updates.

My pick: Snowden

What do you think of these? Which one is your favourite?

  1. These both look really nice! I can see how the tag would be kind of annoying, it was a nice thought to try something different though.

  4. Snowden is such a beautiful shade of blue! And while the hang tags look cute, I can see why that's annoying.

  5. Very pretty, the shimmers are so subtle, it's quite different from most other holiday glitters that are so shimmery!

  8. I love Snowden! My bottle has the name on a label in the bottom of the bottle, the tag doesn't have anything written on it. I got mine last week.
