The Latest From Renaissance Cosmetics: The Anniversary Collection

Hi everyone! Last night I showed you the Modern Vamp collection coming soon to my shop, and tonight I have the second collection to be released - the Anniversary Collection! That's right, I've been in business for a year now, and to celebrate I decided to release some polishes that I've been working on and am very excited about. I'm also having a sale this weekend, and you can get all the details at the end of this post.

About this collection:

The Anniversary Collection is an eclectic mix of glitters and shimmers. There's no real theme to this collection, rather these are some ideas I had been working on and wanted to introduce to the shop. The names come from the polishes themselves - or rather things that the colours evoked.

The polishes:

Blushing (v): to become rosy.

Blushing

Blushing is a rose-gold micro glitter polish, much like those I released in August. It can be layered over a base, or built up to full coverage in 2-3 coats. It's got a mix of predominantly rose and gold micro glitter, but it also has pink, fuchsia, and touches of purple micro glitter. I love making micro glitters that have subtle hints of other colours, but they optically mix. I used 3 coats for these swatches.

Ennui (n): a feeling of utter weariness and discontent resulting from satiety or lack of interest; boredom.

Ennui

For me, this polish is anything but boring, but it does remind me of a cloudy, dreary day. Ennui is a light grey crelly with subtle purple shimmer and a mix of periwinkle, navy, midnight blue, iridescent and silver micro glitter. It has this delicate and speckled effect that I've been obsessed with lately. This one might be a bit top coat hungry due to the glitter. I used 2 coats here plus top coat.

Melancholia (n): a mental condition characterized by great depression of spirits and gloomy forebodings.

Melancholia

I wanted to make a midnight blue equivalent to Rosie-Osie, and that's how I ended up with Melancholia. It's an intense, dark blue full-coverage jelly with a mix of small gold and silver holographic glitter, and a blue-copper shimmer. I really love the depth in this polish, and it goes on smooth but doesn't require many coats. I used 2 coats here.

Rapture (n.): ecstatic joy or delight; joyful ecstasy.

Rapture

Rapture is another micro glitter polish that I'm excited to introduce. Like Blushing, this can be layered over a base polish, or it can be built up to full coverage in 2-3 coats. More than any other micro glitter polish, this one has tons of sparkle and shimmer - it must be seen in direct sun to fully appreciate it! It has a mix of silver, black and purple micro glitter (the purple is more of an accent), spectraflair, and a warm purple shimmer. This is 3 coats plus top coat.

Reverie (n): a state of dreamy meditation or fanciful musing.

Reverie

For me this is one of my favourites of the new releases. Reverie is a beautiful aqua blue with gold shimmer and a mix of gold, rose, and purple micro glitter. The colour is hard to capture though, and it may be a little less intense than in these photos. I have a feeling that I will be wearing this one a lot! It dries with a bit of a texture because of the glitter, but it smooths out nicely with top coat. I used 2 coats here.

Sprinkles (n): small particles of chocolate, candy, sugar, etc., used as a decorative topping for cookies, cakes, ice-cream cones, and the like.

Sprinkles

I wanted to make something fun, simple, but also with beautiful shimmer (of course!), and that's how Sprinkles came to be. This is a white crelly with a rainbow mix of glitter, along with some silver and iridescent glitter. It also has an iridescent, rainbow shimmer. The shimmer is subtle on the nails but layering it over a white base might enhance it some. I used 3 coats here.

The sale:

In addition to the new releases, I'll also be adding a few holiday prototypes to the shop. You can find those on the Prototype Sale page. These are very limited edition (only 1 or 2 of each), so I recommend getting them right at noon when they go on sale. I'll be adding nail wheel swatches to this page, so check back later on Friday or Saturday! Also, all regular priced polishes and cuticle oils have been discounted 25% and discontinued polishes 40%.

Availability:

This collection goes on sale on Sunday, November 30th at noon EST. There's limited stock so in the event that they sell out, I'll change the listing to a preorder - preorder polishes might take an extra week on top of the normal shipping times (usually 3-5 business days).

You can follow on Facebook and Instagram for more updates.

What do you think of this collection? Do you have a favourite from the new releases?
