Galaxy Nails with Spell Polish |
Normally when I do galaxy nails I tend to pick out a wider variety of colours and polishes. This time it was fun to stick to one colour, blue, with some variation within that. I also used black, white, and off-white to add the light and dark areas.

To get this look:
Some people have a hard time with galaxy nails. I just take my time and build up the colours using torn bits of makeup sponge, dabbing on the colours. I found the blues weren't showing up that well so I sponged on some highlights, and then went in with more blue.

Normally with galaxy nails I like to stick to a glossy top coat, because it really highlights the shimmer and depth. But I find in photos, the glare masks the nail art, so I went with a matte top coat.

Final thoughts:
I love the more restrained palette with these. Overall, they read "blue" but if you look more closely you can see the subtle variations of the colours.

ReplyDeleteI've always loved galaxy nails and have wanted to give them a try since the first ones I saw, especially since I'm always hearing how easy they are... Thank you for addressing that some people do have difficulty with them, it makes me feel a bit better in my hesitance :) In the meantime, I'll admire yours. I dig the blue palette-- sort of organized chaos, tee hee :)
