The Digit-al Dozen Does Spooky Days: Day One, The Graveyard

Hi everyone! The Digit-al Dozen is doing a second week this month - this time it's spooky, Halloween themed nail art. Also we've got a fun giveaway going on. I may not be able to do five posts but I want to try to get in one or two more posts before Friday. Today's mani is a very quintessential Halloween look, since I don't often do Halloween nail art, I thought I'd start with the basics.

About this look:

When I was brainstorming ideas for this week, I did the most lazy thing a person could possibly do - I did a Google image search for "Halloween." The quintessential Halloween scene seems to be a silhouette landscape with some kind of graveyard, or haunted house, an orange sky, a full moon, creepy trees, and maybe some bats. So there you go! I think I've covered all of those, except for the haunted house. It's not the most inventive look, but it was relatively easy to do and I enjoyed doing it.

To get this look:
  • Base: Sally Hansen Firey Island
  • Gradient: Sally Hansen Lightening, Sally Hansen Firey Island, and Essie Shearling Darling; use tiny pieces of make up sponge to add lighter and darker areas and get them to blend into one another.
  • Moon: OPI My Vampire is Buff
  • Silhouette: Cult Nails Nevermore
  • Top Coat: KBShimmer Clearly On Top and Essie Matte About You

Final thoughts:

I'll be honest, I don't really celebrate Halloween. So this week really is a challenge for me. I've got a few more ideas that should be fun, if I have time to pull them off. So hopefully you'll check those out when they are posted.

What do you think of these? Are you planning to do any nail art for Halloween?
