Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers out there. I won't be doing the usual turkey dinner, but I will be spending the day with my family, so I'm very grateful for that. I'm also excited to be kicking off another Digit-al Dozen week. Floral nail art is one of my favourite kinds of nail art, so I've been looking forward to this prompt for months.

About this design:
I was inspired by my
secondary colour nails I did for the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0. But instead of doing a mix of larger and smaller flowers, I took the larger flowers and blew them up so they took up almost the entire nail. I also wanted to stick to a black/grey/off-white colour scheme. In fact, these remind me of a charcoal or pencil drawing, that's why I'm calling them graphite flowers.

To get this look:
- Base: OPI My Vampire is Buff
- Background texture: Lightly sponge Cult Nails Nevermore, Sally Hansen White On, and KBShimmer How You Dune? Then lightly drag some My Vampire is Buff to diffuse the effect.
- Flowers: Cult Nails Nevermore and a fine detail brush
- Top coats: Rica Glossy Glam and Essie Matte About You

Final thoughts:
I deliberately left my index nail looking unfinished. The design was worked up more on my middle and ring nails. That wasn't my original intention, but halfway through doing the flowers, I realized that I liked them that way. Also, I think I might like these more than my original design I did last month. I tend to really like monochromatic/black-and-white colour schemes. Even when I was drawing and painting.
