Pinstripes and hearts nail art |
About this design:
I found this black and blue pinstripe design on the Nail Art Gallery website and decided to do a variation. Simple enough I thought! After doing a few intricate designs I needed a bit of a rest. However, I spent way too much time trying to figure out the details: What should my base polish be? Should I do an accent nail? What colours should I use? Should I make this look grungy? In the end I felt I was overthinking it, and stuck with the basic idea.

Final thoughts:
In the end I love how this turned out. I generally tend towards detailed thin stripes, like my intricate stripe designs, but I love this more minimal look. And after I decided on colours, it was very easy. It also inspires me to do more pinstripe designs!

DeleteI really think the hearts make this mani! They were the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the hearts are my favourite part. :)
DeleteLove the simplicity of the design... the hearts are a super great touch x
ReplyDeleteThank you Lindsay, sometimes it's nice to do more simple designs.
DeleteOh all the ways I love this mani!! It reminds me of high school crushes, when you'd doodle on paper during class lol
ReplyDeleteGreat analogy! I see that too. Thanks Jessica!
DeleteI love this! So simple, yet detailed :) Great work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily! :)
DeleteI normally like the precision that striping tape gives stripes but I adore these! They look so simple, but I know how that goes!!! (I usually end up having to re-do the base and then use aids to help with lines!)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I admire those who can do stripes with striping tape, but it takes me 20x as long because I fuss over the placing. So it's easier for me to eyeball and do them freehand. Go figure!
DeleteI love these a lot! And I love that you used Kensington <3 reminds me I need to use that in a nail art soon!! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh! I'd love to see you do some nail art with Kensington! I bet it would look amazing.
DeleteThis is freakin' adorable. And simple enough that I might actually be able to recreate it! LOVE!
