The brand is mostly known for their thermal polishes (called mood potions), scented top coats, and colour-shifting sheer polishes. They also have some regular glitters and crellies with glitter. I was sent two thermals and a crelly to try out, so read on to hear my thoughts on these polishes.
All Lawyered Up is from the I <3 New York collection, which is, I believe, inspired by Sex and the City. I'll admit I've only seen one or two episodes and that was a long time ago. This one is inspired by the Miranda character. It's a pink-red crelly with orange hex glitter. The colour is very hard to capture but it looks like a hot pink in the bottle but more red on the nails.

The polish went on smooth but I found it a bit sheer. This is 3 coats, and there was still some visible nail line.

*A note about thermal swatches: I used ice cold water for both polishes to get the colour shift. Under normal use you might not see the same results.
Pearllen is a pale, icy blue thermal. The colour is very, very light when at room temperature and becomes 1-2 shades darker when it gets cold. The change is subtle but very nice.

I really like the colour, but it has a pearl/frost finish that makes it look a bit dated. It has a really good formula and goes on very evenly. This was 3 coats.

Tropinkal Punch is another thermal with a scattered holo. At room temperature it is a reddish pink, and it shifts to a dark maroon when cold. The colour shift is dramatic but it changes back to the original colour quickly. Formula was good and I used 3 coats here.

Final Thoughts:
The formulas on all three are great, and I had no issues with any of them. My favourite of the bunch is definitely Tropinkal Punch - it works on its own and as a thermal. All Lawyered Up is personally not my taste, I don't really gravitate to red-orange combinations. But the collection is worth a look if you like Sex and the City.

These are some nice shades! I particularly like Tropinkal Punch.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa! :) Tropinkal Punch will also go even more bright pinky red if it gets really warm, warmer than just room temperature. You can see it in the pics in my listing for Tropinkal Punch here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/193129579/tropinkal-punch-specialty-mood-potion?ref=shop_home_feat_3
DeleteThanks Lisa! And thanks Bree for pointing out the warm colour shift!
DeleteMeghan, I'm loving "Pearllen" even if it's dated -- those frosty shades are what I grew up with and still enjoy. Someone's got to give them love, after all!!! Thanks for your lovely swatches and the introduction to a new indie brand!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cat for the kind comment! And I totally understand what you mean, I remember when pearl/frost shades were more popular, so I don't mind them as much either. :) At least I try not to dismiss stuff like that because it's out of fashion.
DeleteEdmonton isn't THAT cold! Okay, I'm totally lying to you...it snowed today. On September 8th! But that's ridiculous even for Edmonton. How much longer until summer?
ReplyDeleteLol! Snow in September, ugh! I've only been to Edmonton twice but my parents used to live there before I was born and I remember my mom telling me about how cold it is there. :)
DeleteI love the thermal nail polishes she has (I looked at her Etsy to see more of them) and I'm really impressed by a lot of them. The Tropinkal Punch is gorgeous as the original color and as the color it changed into!
ReplyDeleteThere's some really gorgeous ones in the shop, I'm glad you had the chance to check them out. :)
