31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0: Day Four, Secondary Colours

Hi everyone! Before I get into today's post, I'm curious, how are you enjoying the extra nail art this week? Is it too much, or do you like the extra posts? Or do you not care?

Kelli, Lindsey and I still have the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, it's weeks like this where I'm very grateful that we are only doing it 2 days a week. Today, I had the choice between primary (red, yellow and blue) and secondary (green, orange, and purple) colours, and I choose secondary because I love how they look together, and I think they are very fall-like colours.

About this design:

The inspiration came from an image I found during a Google search - it's from one of those wallpaper sites but I love it anyways. I love the wavering lines of the flowers and the painterly background. It reminds me somewhat of my flowers using the China Glaze Sunsational jellies from awhile back.

To Get This Look:

I started with a white base and sealed that with top coat before doing a watercolour type background using nail polish and thinner. After that I sponged on a bit of white - lightly - to subdue the background so the lines would stand out more. I painted the lines freehand with black polish and a detail brush.

Final Thoughts:

Flowers may not be the most groundbreaking idea, but it's stuff like this that makes me very happy. I did this design over the weekend and I've been looking forward to posting all week. I love that feeling!

What do you think of this? Do you prefer primary or secondary colours?
