The Digit-al Dozen Does Summer, Day Four: Summer Wildflowers...Take Two

Hi everyone! I hope you are not sick of flowers, because I decided to revisit the idea of wildflowers for today's design. This was a look that I had attempted a few days ago, but it didn't turn out so well. Sometimes you need to mess something up so that you can look back on it and figure out what went wrong.

About this design:

You may remember that on Day Two of this week's challenge, I posted a sketchy wildflower design. I mentioned that it had been my second attempt - my first one not turning out so well. I originally wanted something that looked more like an Impressionist painting with fields of wildflowers. When that didn't work, I changed gears (cause it was late and I had to have *something*). Later on, I had an "aha!" moment, realized what I did wrong, and decided to go back to my original idea.

To get this look:

I painted the entire design freehand. I started by lightly painting in the sky and grass, then I built up the grass with lighter and darker shades of green. The very last step was to add the wildflowers. I don't remember all the polishes I used, but I'll try to mention as many as possible.

Final Thoughts:

Although I got a lot of nice compliments on my previous design, I prefer this one so much more. I really love nail art that has an impressionist painterly style. They are some of my favourite pieces. I love the loose quality, and there was a point when I was painting that I thought it was too messy and wouldn't be read as a field of flowers. But now that it's done I'm very happy.

What do you think of this? Do you like landscape nail art?
