The Polish Bar Swatches and Review: City of Lights and Spring Reverie

Hi everyone! The Polish Bar is one of those brands that is known for their holo polishes. And so far my experience with them has been fantastic. City of Lights and Spring Reverie are a nice change from all the bright colours we've been seeing lately, and they'll appeal to those who want more subdued colours with a nice holo effect.

Formula and application: So far my experience with The Polish Bar has been great, and I enjoy swatching for a brand whose polishes are consistently good with their application. Both polishes went on really smooth and evenly. I used 3 coats for both polishes.

City of Lights is a blackened teal with a medium holo effect. Formula was great on this one, and I love the depth in this! I do think there are similar polishes on the market, but this one is more affordable than many.

Spring Reverie is a greyed periwinkle with a subtle holo effect. This one has a very unique colour - in some lights it is more grey, in others you can see touches of blues or purples. It is described in the shop as a lilac, but it comes across as a bit too muted to be lilac.

It looks sheer at first but builds up nicely. I used 3 coats here.

  2. Hi Meghan,

Holos and scattered are my preferred. Well, I also adore the textured and the very beautiful creams. Notice, the glitter also if they are elegant …
But there is holo and holo. I was very disappointed by the ILNP spring collection, bought altogether. Very flat polishes. Lilypad Lacquer and Circus are well if we like very frank colors. The last two creations teal NCLA, meh meh. In fact my preferred are CBL, because, generally, they ally refined colors and holos of an incredible power.
But I begin to be a little tired to see almost only that in all the brands. After a while they all look the same a shade near.

    Amitiés,
    Claire
