Intricate Stripes For Independence Day

Hi everyone! Happy Fourth of July if you celebrate! Obviously I'm in Canada, so it was just another day here. But I lived in the US for many years and have family there, so I was feeling in the mood to do some nail art for the holiday.

Fourth of July Stars and Stripes Nail Art

I decided to do a patriotic twist on my previous intricate stripe designs (seen here and here). I also wanted to add some variation, so I added the stars. Everything was painted freehand.

To get this look:

  • Base: Cult Nails Tempest
  • Stripes: OPI OPI Red, OPI Keeping Suzi At Bay
  • Top coat: KBShimmer Clearly On Top
  • Matte top coat: Cult Nails Wax That
  • Brush: Pure Color No. 10 from Stylish Nail Art

I really love how this turned out, and I think it was a fun look for the holiday. I really don't get tired of these stripe designs. I like that it has stars and stripes without screaming "Flag!" Not that there's anything wrong with flags! ;)

What do you think of this? Do you celebrate the Fourth of July, and if so, did you do some patriotic nail art?

A bunch of bloggers decided to link up their Fourth of July posts. Make sure to check out the great nail art by these talented bloggers!

    1. Awwww... thanks! There are some imperfections and a few places where I needed to do touch ups, but luckily you don't notice it so much in the final mani.

    1. Thank you Lolly! I actually don't do my intricate, detailed work on my right (dominant) hand. I'm not ambidextrous, and I'd rather work on new designs and being creative than learning to do intricate work with my left hand. I had a simple skittle mani on my right hand. :)
