Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily |
Today's prompt is turquoise, and I had so many great choices, but in the end I went with Rescue Beauty Lounge's Aqua Lily. It's closer to a teal, but still within the turquoise family I think. I bought this beauty when it was rereleased sometime last year, and it sat in the untried pile until now! Shame!
Read on to find out my thoughts on this polish and the nail art I did with it.
About Aqua Lily: This was one of those polishes that I HAD to have the moment I first saw it. I don't often go gaga over a polish, so that has to tell you something. It has a very rich turquoise/teal colour with a noticeable purple shimmer. I love the shimmer - it's really fine and delicate, and makes this polish so unique.

The formula was excellent. It's on the thin side, but it's not sheer. It builds up to full coverage in 2-3 coats. I really have no issues to report with this polish - it applied like a dream!

About this design: I decided to do some lilies, so original, eh?! ;) I painted them with black and white acrylic paint - starting with the black to build up the flowers, then adding the white last for the highlights.

The tiny studs are from a Vancouver-based shop called The Nail Room - they specialize in Japanese nail art supplies. Aren't they cute?

I wanted to create a graphic/drawing-like look with the lilies. I still need some practice, but I think I'm headed in the right direction.
Let's hear from you:
What do you think of this? Do you own Aqua Lily, and if so, do you love it as much as I do?

What a pretty color! I like the floral details too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I agree the colour is gorgeous! :)
DeleteThe detailing is amazing! It works amazingly with the base coat!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad the details worked with the base, because I didn't really test it out first. So it's always nice when something works out and you didn't plan for it. :)
DeleteThis is one of my all-time favorite polishes, pretty nail art!
