Aly's Dream Polish Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I'm back with more swatches from Aly's Dream Polish. If you missed my review of Dreamy Amethyst from the DreamStone collection, make sure to check that out. In addition to special and seasonal collections, Aly's Dream Polish also carries a HUGE range of holos across the full colour spectrum. If you're looking for a holo in a particular colour, you should definitely check out her shop, chances are that she might have it.

One thing I noticed about these holos is that they are not the strongest, however, they are definitely stronger than my pictures show. You really have to see them in the sun to get the full effect, but because I'm often swatching in the evening, I wasn't able to show sunlight shots.

The strength of the holo may be due to the type of holographic pigment used. Aly (the maker) uses only cosmetic-grade holographic pigment. Most makers use Spectraflair, which is not cosmetic grade.

Blue Lapis (#59) is a deep ultramarine blue holo, leaning towards indigo. 3 coats used here (although 2 would work).

I did a comparison with Dreamy Amethyst (reviewed here). In addition to the colour difference, there's slight differences in the formula, and I found that Dreamy Amethyst had a tad thicker consistency.

Ocean (#51) is a gorgeous teal holo. I love teal polishes, and I really adore this one! 3 coats.

Super Cherry (#43) is a fuchsia holo with orange undertones that come out in the shimmer. 3 coats.

Formula and application: All three polishes had consistent formula - I found these polishes to be a breeze in terms of application, they went on effortlessly and I encountered absolutely no difficulties. And all three were perfectly smooth and self-leveling. I used 3 coats for all swatches.

If you love strong holos you might be disappointed, however, if you love gorgeous colours, with a subtle holo, I think you'll like these. I much prefer the more subtle holo as it lets the colour come through better. I think that certainly shows with these three polishes here.

Aly's Dream Polish is available on Store Envy, and updates are available through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

What do you think of these polishes? Have you tried this brand before?

  1. Those are all beautiful polishes but I think if I could only have one I'd choose Dreamy Amethyst.
