Pretty Little Bottles with China Glaze City Flourish |
About this design: I decided to take on nail polish brands in this design. I really only had two goals: paint little bottles of polish, and use the new China Glaze City Flourish collection. So I think I succeeded on both fronts! But more seriously, I'm not sure how I feel about these. Don't get me wrong - they are cute, but I tend to like my nail art when it has an artistic look. To me this looks more cartoonish. However, I'm trying to move past this biased thinking.

To get this look: I started with a white base, then I used several light-coloured polishes to do a watercolour background. I painted the outlines for the bottles in black polish, filled them in with white, then went over that with colour. The last steps were to paint the black caps and the white highlights.

What do you think of this design? How would you take on the theme of brands?

These are really cute :) I love that added touch of the watercolor background as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way with my nail art. I want it to look like art and not just like I stuck some random stuff on it and it can be hard to find the balance. But it's fun sometimes to just go completely out of your normal art zone.
There very cute! I like them and sometimes its a great experience to try something outside of the box too :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm a slow guesser... what brand bottle is drawn on your littlefinger? the other three are very recognisable :)
That's supposed to be the standard indie round bottle - the one most of the indie brands use - same kind you get with Seche Vite. :) And I'm glad you got the others!
DeleteThis is so cute and fun !
ReplyDeletelove it - i love that the bottle shapes are recognisable xx
ReplyDeleteNo these are PERFECT! I love all of your amazing 'art' designs but cartoons are art too and these are just. Too. Cute!
