The Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage: Inspired By The House of Worth

Hi everyone! I'm behind on my challenge manis for The Digit-al Dozen, but looks like I'll get all five done, I only have one more to post tomorrow.

If you've really liked the vintage theme, The Digit-al Dozen is trying something new. Post your vintage manis on The Digit-al Dozen Facebook page or tweet @thedigitaldozen and tag with #ddinspired, and you could be featured on our Facebook page. I would love to see what people create, I think the challenge is pretty fun in that there's so many ways you could go with it!

About this design: I wanted to do something that featured SoFlaJo's The True Death, another great polish sent to me from Jody, the maker. I came across this beautiful evening dress by the House of Worth, a French fashion house, while browsing the Met Costume Institute collection online.

About SoFlaJo The True Death: This is a gorgeous blackened brown creme/jelly with a glowing red-copper-green shimmer that is truly stunning. I applied two coats here and the application was great. I did notice a few imperfections in the formula (it happens), which look more apparent in the photos than in person.

To get this look: I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff, and freehanded the lines with The True Death. I love how the SoFlaJo has a granular effect when applied thinly with the lines. Also, you can see flecks of copper in the lines...very cool!

Overall: I love The True Death, it's dark, mysterious, and vampy -  how awesome! I know I'll be reaching for it again. As for the design, I really love the simplicity of it, I find it quite striking.
