Sweet Stained Glass Nail Art With Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk and XOXO

Hi everyone! Are you having a fabulous weekend? I feel like every weekend I'm playing the catch-up game...a game that I never win. Lol! Awhile back I was sent a few polishes from Rainbow Honey to review, including two sweet shades from their Sweet Talk collection, their Valentine's Day collection from last year. This year they came out with Sweet Talk 2, which looks as gorgeous as the first part.

Well unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on how you look at it - I already swatched and reviewed the Sweet Talk collection (you can see my swatches here), so I decided to do some nail art instead. Nail Polish Canada is also having a Valentine's Day nail art contest, so I wanted to do something fun for that. If you like this design, please vote for me on the Nail Polish Canada website.

Valentine's Day Stained Glass Nails

About this look: I wanted to do a Valentine's Day nail art look that combined the two polishes from Rainbow Honey. I've been doing some stained glass designs lately, so a stained glass heart immediately came to mind. In the first version of this design, my middle nail was something different - little hearts on strings. Long story short, it didn't really work. I changed the middle nail so it brought together the two Rainbow Honey polishes and made the entire design look more cohesive. I'm really glad I did.

To get this look: On my pinky and ring nails I started with a base of Cult Nails Tempest (a white creme) topped with Rainbow Honey XOXO. On my middle nail I started with Tempest, then I used XOXO, Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk, and Renaissance Cosmetics Taffeta Gown and Love...Everyday. On my index, I started with Sweet Talk and used Orly Luxe, Taffeta Gown, and Love...Everyday to fill in the tiny spaces.

Overall: I really love how this turned out. Before I changed the one nail, I had this feeling that it wasn't working, and I could have just posted that design, but I'm glad I didn't.

Rainbow Honey is available through their website, and if you're in Canada, through Nail Polish Canada. You can follow Rainbow Honey on Facebook for updates and new collections.

What do you think of this design? Did you get the Sweet Talk collection last year, or do you plan to buy part two?

    1. Thank you! I used Cult Nails Tempest as a base on that nail. It's a white creme and I like it because you get excellent coverage in 2 coats. :)
