Foxy Paws Shady Love

Hi everyone! I have another great polish from Danish indie brand Foxy Paws Polish. I've been slowly (too slowly in fact) working my way through the Filthy/Gorgeous collection (see my previous posts here). While the other polishes in the collection are bright and full of colour, this one is on the darker side. So I had to come up with an edgier look to feature it.

Shady Love is a black crelly with neon pink hex glitter in different sizes. I am hesitant when it comes to black crellies, I worry that they will end up being too sheer. But this one wasn't, and I was able to get full coverage in three coats. The formula was perfect and it went on very even and smooth. I love how this looks both fun and vampy.

About this look: You may remember last week when I did some roses with stripes; well, I must have been on a roses and stripes kick because I did this at the same time. But my previous design was lighter, more feminine, while this one is, well, not delicate, but still feminine.

Vampy Roses and Stripes Nail Art

To get this look: I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff. The stripes were painted with Orly Luxe and Cult Nails Fetish. For the roses I used China Glaze Fuchsia Fantasy, and mixed with My Vampire is Buff and Fetish to get the darker and lighter values. Instead of using green for the leaves I used black and I like how that added to the look.

Overall: Maybe not the most original design, but sometimes I feel like I need to do things a few times to get them right. At least that's how it is when it comes to stripes. I also love how the mood of a design changes with a simple colour palette change.
