Wing Dust Collections Perfect Day: Swatches, Review and Some Simple Taping

Hi everyone! Tonight's post features a polish that I've had my eye on forever. I've been wanting Wing Dust Collections Perfect Day ever since it came out in the summer. I was able to get it at a recent restock, and literally the moment I opened my mail I wanted to use it right away! To be honest I see a lot of polish, and it takes a lot to make me excited, so it's great when I come across something so perfect.

And because I'm trying to improve my taping skills, I thought I'd experiment with a simple taped design. I still have a ways to go, but I think I'm improving. ;)

Perfect Day is a dusty pale blue-grey with pink shimmer, gold flakes, and a mixture of blue, gold and copper glitter. I love blue-grey colours like this, so it's absolute perfection. And the gold flakes are definitely unique. I couldn't have asked for a better polish.

Formula-wise it was pretty good, I believe I may have added some thinner, these types of polishes tend to be pretty tricky. On the plus side there's plenty of glitter and it went on very smooth. I used three coats plus Gelous and top coat for these swatches.

To get this look: I've been making some attempts to do simple tape manis. Taping is completely out of my comfort zone so I wanted to start simple, but also do something elegant. I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff on all nails except the ring finger. The gradient is done with Perfect Day. The gold is Orly Luxe.

Overall: I'm in love with this look. I remember when I did the design, I could see the flaws on my nails and I wasn't happy with it. Now I'm looking at the pictures and I don't notice those things as much. It's nothing complex, but I think for this look, simplicity is better. Plus taping with indie/glitter polishes is a challenge, so you don't want to do anything too intricate.

What do you think of Perfect Day? How about my nail art? Do you find tape manis difficult like I do?
