Four Weeks of piCture pOlish: Week Two: A Whimsical Skittlette

Hi everyone! Another week, another gorgeous piCture pOlish shade to share with you. When I was asked by the ladies at piCture pOlish if there was any polish in particular that I wanted to review, Whimsy was my choice - and do you blame me!? Whimsy (noun): A playful or amusing quality; a sense of humour or playfulness.

Whimsy is a beautiful baby blue shade with a tiny flake-like golden shimmer. The shimmer is definitely noticeable on the nail and is really what makes the polish so stunning. I love the simplicity of the polish, how it is understated and yet absolutely beautiful. The formula was perfect and I had no issues with the polish. It has just the right consistency and goes on very smooth and evenly. This was three coats.

Since whimsy refers to playfulness, I decided to do a simple skittlette. I didn't plan it out ahead of time, I just did it as I went along. The studs on my pinky and thumb are from The Nailasaurus Emporium. My ring finger is a gradient using Whimsy and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The glitter is a soon-to-be released glitter topper from my indie line - Renaissance Custom Lacquer. On my middle finger I did a disrupted water marble using MBSW as my base and Whimsy and A England Dorian Gray for the marbling. On my index finger I used the same glitter polish from Renaissance Custom Lacquer.

Overall I love how this mani turned out. The combination of shimmery blue and the sparkly glitter topper makes this nice for the holidays, without screaming "Christmas"! I love how well the glitter topper went with Whimsy.
