The Digit-al Dozen Does Black & White: Disrupted Water Marble

Hi everyone! Monday we had the distressed poppies, and now we have disrupted water marble. Notice a trend? ;) You may have seen similar designs like this here, this is my favourite way to do water marbles. It's not a perfect water marble, nor is it a water-spotted water marble (see no spots!), so I've dubbed it the disrupted water marble.

About this design: You can see previous versions of disrupted water marble manis that I did for the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge Day 9, the same challenge on Day 10, and the design I did featuring Lumina Lacquer Man Eater. Even just looking at these designs inspires me to do another one! The thing I love about this technique is that it is so unpredictable and the effects are so unique!

But I have to say out of all the water marbles I've done in this vein, I think today's is one of my favourites (okay it ties with the red one, but do you blame me!?). I just really love the bold look of black and white.

To get this look: If you don't know how to do a regular water marble, I suggest checking out some videos on YouTube. There are plenty of great tutorials out there that will teach you the basics, the rest is just practice.

My technique for the disrupted water marble is simple: drop polishes in water, swish around with a toothpick to get marble effect, spray with hairspray, and dunk finger. Sometimes I let my fingers dry and do another lap. For this particular one I used a base of Sally Hansen White On, and the black is Sally Hansen Black Out. I also added touches of A England Dorian Grey and Lady of the Lake. I love the subtle accents on this one!

Let's hear from you! What do you think of this? Have you tried this technique or a similar one? If you've tried this technique what do you call it?
