Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. For me, it was a polish-filled weekend - swatching polishes on Saturday and making (yes, making!) polishes on Sunday. One thing I've mentioned on Instagram, but not here, is that my sister and I are currently working on our own indie polish line. Yes, I know that everyone is doing it, but we do believe we can bring something unique to the market. While I'm really excited and nervous, it's still a few weeks away. We want to thoroughly test everything out first before releasing it. Right now I'm just enjoying spending my Sundays with my sister experimenting and mixing, mixing, mixing!

But getting back to the polishes at hand, tonight I have two polishes from indie brand Lumina Lacquer - one is a recent release while the other is older. Unfortunately, sometimes I'm not able to swatch a polish right away, and by the time I get to it, it is harder to find. I'm really sorry, it's not intentional.

Max Is The New Black is a deep navy blue jelly with tiny square silver glitter. It's quite simple in makeup but very mesmerizing! The polish applies flawlessly - it has the perfect consistency and goes on with no issues. I love the effect of all the tiny glitter suspended in the vivid base! This was two coats.

Purple Rain is a clear-based glitter bomb with a mixture of purple, pink, silver, wine, and iridescent glitters in the shape of hexes, circles, bars, moons and hearts. I say it's clear based, but actually it's a very sheer purple, so it will lightly tint your base polish if it's very light. I found the larger glitters were a bit of a challenge to get out, otherwise, I had no issues or problems to report with this one. This is one coat over OPI My Vampire is Buff.

What do you think of these? I really like both of them equally, but I think Max Is The New Black is the more unique one out of the two. Max Is the New Black is a recent release, and hopefully should be available at the next restock. However, Purple Rain has been discontinued. I even checked some stockists but no luck. If you like it though, there's always the chance of finding it on a blog sale or getting it through a trade.
