Hi everyone! I'm back to posting, and even though I only took the long weekend off, I think it's the longest I've gone without posting in a long time! It was weird, but felt very good to have that break. Since I'm still technically a student and work at a university, September, with the start of the school year, always feels like a fresh start. In terms of this blog, I want to get back to setting goals for myself (nothing outrageous of course), and thinking about ways to make this space better.

In the meantime, I'm still chugging along with the 31 Day Challenge. I recently got my hands on two of the polishes from the
Dior Mystic Metallics collection -
Destin (382), a taupe shimmer, and
Galaxie (992), a deep wine coloured shimmer. For tribal nails I wanted to do something simple, like a nude base with just black lines. But in the end, I thought using these two Dior polishes with black lines would be a good idea.

The base is Dior Destin, and I added some accents of Galaxie. All lines were done with black polish and a thin liner brush. Both Dior polishes are gorgeous shimmery colours but unfortunately the shimmer gets lost with the matte top coat I added. I'm very happy with the line work, and I think that aspect is strong, but I wish I had left the glossy top coat on.

ReplyDeleteHehe, glad to hear you had a good break! :) A good relaxation over the weekend is always better than none! :D Love the nails! I think I would prefer them gloss too. That way the colours would create more contrast with each other making the whole design pop more! At least, in my opnion hehe. Nevertheless you did a great job at tackling this theme as well! Well done! :D

ReplyDeleteI have never liked tribal nails. Until I saw your tribal mani today! It's awesome! The colors are gorgeous, maybe that's what changed my mind! I can see myself wearing a tribal, IF it were to look like yours! It's unlikely I will get to experience Top end polish like Dior (and others) so I will have to be content drooling over pics like yours! Thanks for the inspiration! And awesome manicures! :)
