Perfect Pairings: Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X Tape Mani

Hi everyone! Last week the new Rainbow Honey collection arrived at my house. And despite the initial damper of having to pay customs fees (on top of the cost of buying the polish), I was super excited to get my hands on this collection. I didn't get a chance to swatch them because I was away visiting my dad and aunts over the weekend, but I knew that I wanted to start using them for some nail art!

My taping skills are something I want to work on, so I decided on a simple tape mani that would show off several of the polishes from this collection.

I used the three cremes/shimmers in the collection as my base colours: Mint Flavor, Tessie, and Apple Kid. And three jellies/glitters on top: Pink Cloud, The Kraken, and Lumine Hall.

I'm so glad I decided to keep the design simple, because the jellies/glitters are not the best polishes for tape manis - it is challenging to get clean lines when you pull the tape off. My guess is that the polish starts to set very quickly so you have to work faster than usual. Also the glitter sometimes prevents a clean line.

I topped them off with studs I got from the Born Pretty Store. Silver just seemed to be the perfect accent, and I love how the squares sort of mimic the taped lines.

What do you think of this? Have you gotten anything from the new Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X collection?
