About Incoco Nail Polish Strips: These are 100% real nail polish and are designed to last 14 days. Each package contains 16 nail polish strips, instructions, a nail file and buffer, and a cuticle stick. According to the product it contains the base, colour, and top coat in one, so you do not need to use a base or top coat. Their website has over 200 designs including nail art, plain colours, tips, and strips designed for pedicures.

My experience: I applied these according to the instructions, which are very clear. You start by cleaning and buffing the nails (the buffer is very fine and not damaging). Then peel away the strip from the backing and take off the cover. You place it on the nail, press it down and smooth it out, then finish by filing away the excess. You can stretch these so that they fit, but I find that didn't always work for me. You are not supposed to seal these with top coat.

I found that it was difficult to reposition these if I didn't get it right on the first try. They stick very well and on two occasions I had to take a strip off with acetone because they don't peel off. Acetone works much better than nail polish remover for removing these strips. With nail polish remover, you end up with a bunch of sticky residue that takes longer to get rid of.

Pros:
- Strips are very thin and don't feel bulky like some wraps. In fact they are thinner than several coats of nail polish.
- Contains base, colour, and top coat, so no need for extra polish. I see these being perfect for travel.
- They fit the nails easily - some wraps have slanted sides, while some have straight sides for different nail shapes.
- They have a glossy shine on their own.
- They can be "trimmed" along the sides with a bit of acetone and a fine cleanup brush.
Cons:
- Difficult to reposition if it sticks in the wrong place.
- One package is only good for 1 - 1 1/2 applications. Although they are double ended it is really difficult to use the other end as it gets damaged when removing the excess.
- Nail polish strips dry out, so any unused strips must be resealed properly.

I really love this pattern; I may have to pick a pack up for myself!
ReplyDeleteI agree Stephanie! It's very pretty, delicate and feminine. :)
DeleteI love the pattern! I keep reading good things about the Incoco strips, but I haven't tried any myself!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it! I tend to feel so-so about appliques, but this brand I really enjoyed.
DeleteReally pretty pattern! love it on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Natalie!
DeleteThese are very pretty! I'm not a fan of nail strips myself, but I have a coworker who buys the Sally Hansen brand and they wear like iron on her despite gardening and things like that. I think my biggest issue with them is cost. I can buy a bottle of nail polish for $8-10 and use it over and over vs. spending that for one mani. Plus there is no way I could possibly keep the same mani for a week! ;-)
ReplyDeleteJoy, thanks for the feedback, and I completely agree about the cost. For me this would be a once in a while thing, or something that I'd wear on vacation or when I'm too busy to change my nail polish. I'm like you, I don't remember the last time I wore the same thing for more than a few days. :D
DeleteThese look beautiful! I got some Essie appliqués in my summer Luxe Box that I'm looking forward to trying out... soon I hope. The only bummer is that the colour I got is my least favourite out of all the colours they had available, hehe. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chantal! I'm hoping that you'll review the Essie stripes on your blog, I'd love to hear what you think about them.
DeleteThis design is so pretty and delicate. I actually have a set of Innoco strips but haven't gotten around to trying them yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! I hope you enjoy your experience with them when you do get around to trying them. :)
