Nicole by OPI Gumdrops Collection, Swatches and Review: Part 2

Hi everyone! As promised I have the second half of the Nicole by OPI Gumdrops collection - a collection of eight shimmery texture polishes. Make sure you check out part one if you missed it. As I explained in my previous post, my local drugstore display had eight polishes, however, the reviews I've seen so far show only six polishes. I'm assuming that the blogger packages sent out didn't contain the entire collection. So I have two polishes today that you probably haven't seen before - unless you've already found them in stores.

The formula and application for these is the exact same as the previous four polishes I reviewed. For all four that I'm showing here, I used a base coat, two coats of polish, and no top coat, as per the instructions that came with the polish. I found the application to be great, they go on very evenly and dry to a fine texture. The dry time is good - I wish it was a bit faster, but it is not too bad.

I Lilac Gumdrops is a lavender texture with silver shimmer. I really love the shimmer because it looks like tiny micro-flakes. The colour is also very pretty as well.

Like in my previous post, the first two pictures are taken in my lightbox, and the third picture is taken under direct light.

Lemon Lolly is aptly name - it's a lemon yellow shimmery texture. It has a squishy jelly-like finish similar to Candy is Dandy. There's a bit of visible nail line but it is not too noticeable in person. It's not the most flattering colour on me, but if you like yellow you will enjoy this one.

My Cherry Amour is a berry red jelly. It has a scattered holo that is visible in the bottle but not as noticeable on the nails. Like Lemon Lolly and Candy is Dandy it has kind of a wet look, which I'm not sure how I feel about. I really love the colour on this one though, and it does have a nice shimmer, I just wish you got to see more of the scattered holo.

That's What I Mint is an odd name for a polish that is not mint coloured. It's a vivid teal blue with gold and blue shimmer. It has a somewhat metallic finish and it is very shimmery and glittery, much like Cinna-Man of My Dreams. Both polishes are very similar in terms of finish and shimmer, both also have the same depth in terms of colour.

Overall, I really like this collection. The texture is nice and I like how there is some variation in terms of finish and shimmer. I would have to say my favourites are Cinna-Man of My Dreams and That's What I Mint. The shimmer and finish on these two is just gorgeous! My Cherry Amour is a close runner up!

What do you think of these? Do you plan on getting anything from this collection?

Edit: According to a public relations representative from Nicole by OPI, Lemon Lolly and That's What I Mint are exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada and are not available in the US. However, some readers have noted that That's What I Mint is available on CVS.com.

    1. Isn't it great! I think next time I'll wear it with a top coat, I think it would look great that way.

  2. I love the last one but the name is odd. There's an Essence polish with the same name but that one is a mint :D I really like the yellow one too which is very strange, yellow is definitely not my color :))

    1. The yellow is such a fun, cheerful colour, I also enjoyed it despite the fact that it didn't look well on me. :)

    1. The blue one is my favourite so I agree with you on that one! Great choices. :)

  4. Most bloggers only show 6 shades because the additional 2 - that's what I mint and Lemon Lolly - are exclusive to Shoppers (and therefore only readily available in Canada) :)

    1. I've read that as well but want to hear from NOPI before I include that info.

There's been times in the past where polishes exclusive to US stores ended up in Canada, but just months later. Several months ago I saw a display of "new" NOPI polishes at Shoppers, but several of them had been Target exclusives from a few months back. And this was before there were Target stores in Canada. So I'm not 100% convinced that these won't end up in the States. :)

    2. Oh they probably will end up in the States eventually. But since we're seeing them in Shoppers now but those 2 colors aren't showing up in swatches yet, I think it's safe to assume that's why. They just haven't gotten south of the border yet. If it helps, Mary from Swatch and Learn heard fro NOPI's PR and that's the info they gave her:

  6. These are all beautiful as well! My favourite on this post is I Lilac Gumdrops, closely followed by My Cherry Amour and That's What I Mint (I also agree that the name is odd for the colour.)
