Black Cat Lacquer Dark Side of the Moon, Lucky Star, and Sanitation Twins

Hi everyone! I've had these Black Cat Lacquer photos in my "to post" file for quite some time now and I've been itching to share them. This was my first experience with this indie brand and it was definitely a positive experience. I find that I'm becoming less willing to take risks on new indie brands. Because shipping from the States, where most indie brands are based, has gone up considerably, I'm really only willing to try a new indie brand when it has something *very* unique to offer. I've also had so many problems with packages getting lost in the mail that I've been sticking to only a few select sellers.

However, in this case I'm glad that I tried out a new brand and I'd be happy to add more Black Cat Lacquer to my stash.

Dark Side of the Moon is a white crelly with iridescent shimmer, small silver holo hex glitter, small green hex glitter, and black glitter in a variety of shapes and sizes - hexes, diamonds, tiny bars, and medium circles. I just love the combination of the black with the iridescent shimmer. And the touch of green glitter is so unique. I've worn this polish at least one more time since I took these photos, and it won't be the last!

Lucky Star is a glitter topper with pastel pink, blue, and lavender hexes and stars. It also has iridescent micro-glitter, hexes and bars. I don't know if this is terribly unique but this was the polish I had to have, which prompted me to place an order in the first place. I layered one coat over OPI My Vampire is Buff. I had no issues with the formula and the glitter payoff was great - though it does help to shake it a bit first.

Sanitation Twins is one of those polishes that looks like a chaotic mess, but it works anyways. It's also a clear-based glitter topper with a nice shimmer, black and white bars and hexes, and multi-coloured hex and square glitter. I found the base on this one a bit thick, so some thinner would help. Otherwise the application was great. I layered one coat over Models Own Fuzzy Peach.

What do you think of these? Do you own any Black Cat Lacquer? Or have you been thinking of trying this brand?

I bought these from the Black Cat Lacquer Bigcartel site.

    1. Well I've only tried the three, so I can't talk about the brand as a whole, but so far so good. Glad you liked Dark Side, it really is great!

    1. Thanks Chantal! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I tried Lucky Star over other colours, and this combo seemed to work out the best. And I agree with you that it feels more delicate.
