Hi everyone! I have a bunch of new Wing Dust Collections polishes to show you - I'll be showing some today and the rest over the course of next week. I hope you are ready for some serious sparkle picture spam!
Wing Dust Collections is the brainchild of Stephanie, who lives just north of Toronto. We originally connected on Facebook when I messaged her about local pickup (I live in Toronto). Unfortunately we weren't able to meet up, but I'm so happy to have a bunch of her polishes, they are gorgeous and absolutely shimmery!

Wing Dust Collections (L-R): Blue Steel, I Am Yours & You Are Mine,
and Sleepless Summer Nights |
Because each polish has a beautiful luminosity and shimmer to it, I've included photos under direct lighting in addition to the photos taken in my lightbox.
Blue Steel is meant to be layered over another polish. It has a very sheer blue base with purple/iridescent shimmer and iridescent foil flakes. For this I layered two coats over a watercolour mani that I did with various dark blues, a purple, and black (see photo). The polish is not densely packed with flakes, so I found it had a more subtle effect, but when it catches the light it is very stunning. I did find that some of the flakes wanted to poke up, so it helps to have an orange stick or something else on hand to tame any loose ends.

Watercolour manicure, base for Blue Steel |
I Am Yours & You Are Mine is a squishy berry-coloured jelly packed with a fuchsia/gold shimmer and small pink, gold, and dark purple hex glitter. It's a bit thick but very workable, and I used three coats here, although you could get away with two. I found it levelled perfectly, was very smooth, and as a bonus it was completely non-staining. I really love the colour on this one, it's so vibrant and eye-catching!

Sleepless Summer Nights is a dark teal green jelly, also very squishy. It has what appears to be a pink/bronze shimmer. It also has a ton of glitter: gold, lime green, blue, brown/burgundy hex glitter, and silver and blue stars. I used three coats here - you could get away with two, but I found the polish had more depth and vibrancy with three coats. Despite all the glitter it dried very smooth. I did, however, find that it was slightly staining, but that's typical with teal greens/blues and it wasn't too bad. For me, this polish has a mysteriousness about it that I love, it reminds me of the deep sea or the night sky.

DeleteI Am Yours & You Are Mine is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI did not know that Wing Dust Collections was Canadian. Yay for Canadian indie brands! :-)
I know eh! Yeah for Canadian indies!! There's not too many of them, so I'm always glad to find them as well. I just wish our postal system wasn't so unfavourable to domestic shipping. It's cheaper to ship stuff to the States than within Canada. :(
DeleteI am Yours & You Are Mine is beautiful I agree. Probably my favourite of the bunch although it's hard to decide. It's just such a great colour!
Yes shipping within Canada is ridiculous! Under 2cm thick is rather inexpensive, at max around $2.50-ish, but go over 2cm thick and it bumps up to like $13, there is no in between. Shipping that size is cheaper anywhere but in Canada - even to Australia! I don't get it.
DeleteBlue Steel is so unique!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it!!? I'm glad you liked it! :)

DeleteWingDust does great polishes :) I am very lucky to own quite a few. From this bunch I love the middle one the most - the last one is a teal so it should be my fav' but I am just not so much a fan of shaped glitter like stars and such.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about the glitter. I feel that way about bar glitter, but shape glitter is okay for me. The middle one is really great. So shimmery. I think there will be some others that I show later that you'll like!
DeleteLOVE the watercolor mani! Iridescent polishes are really the cherry on top of a manicure! :)
