The Polish Well Blue Bell Bottoms and Spring Kisses

Hi everyone! Things have been really busy for me these past few days (or maybe weeks, my perception of time is a bit off lately), and I almost wasn't going to post tonight but I really wanted to show you these swatches. I don't talk much about my life outside of blogging, but I work as a teaching assistant at two universities, both as part of my PhD funding, and for extra cash. And this is the time of year I dread the most with all of the papers and exams to mark, and final grades to submit. Forget taxes, maybe I'll get to those in May! :P

I've been following Mich at The Polish Well since last year, late summer or early fall. She does beautiful nail art, and her designs and swatches are always neatly done and clearly photographed. I knew she was into mixing her own polishes, so when she released her own collection of indies last year, I was really impressed. I wasn't able to buy any at the time, but I managed to get a few of them about a month or so ago. I have two today and the rest I'll have to show a later date.

Blue Bell Bottoms is a dusty denim blue linear holo. The holo is not extremely strong, but it is still very visible. I'm also wearing a coat of Seche Vite, which may be dulling the holo effect a bit. I've included photos under direct light, so you can better see the holo.

The formula on this was perfect - I used three coats here and it applied very smooth and was completely self-leveling. I really love the colour on this one, and the fact that it applied effortlessly was a bonus.

Spring Kisses is a white crelly base polish with small pink hex glitter and lavender micro-flakes. There's also a beautiful silver shimmer to this one, and the overall effect is quite delicate and feminine. It looks very sheer but I was able to get full coverage with three coats. This one also applied very smooth and I had no issues with the formula.

Overall, I'm very impressed with both polishes, especially considering that Mich is fairly new to making polishes to sell. It's always nice to support new start ups. Since I bought these polishes she has come out with a few new ones that are very stunning, and I'm very much looking forward to what she will come up with next. :)

Both polishes are available on The Polish Well Etsy store. I believe Mich plans to keep the shop stocked. You can also follow The Polish Well blog, and on Facebook for new releases and updates.

What do you think of these?

    1. Isn't it! Some of the subtleties don't show up well in the pictures so I'm glad you liked it.

  2. These are beautiful! Blue Bell Bottoms really does look like denim, and Spring Kisses is quite delicate.

I just put myself on a no-buy for the rest of April, and possibly for May as well, *cries*. If I don't do it my husband will do an intervention soon, lol!

    1. No buys are never fun! I'm sorry you have to go through that, I would be sobbing too! I hope it goes well, my willpower lately has been nil. Maybe I need a husband to keep me in check! ;)
