Cirque Cape Liz and XX

Hi everyone! I have this simple mani today using two great polishes from the Cirque Objet d'Art collection. I've only tried a few Cirque polishes and so far I'm loving them! I can't wait to see what they come out with for their next collection.

Cirque XX and Cape Liz

For this design, I started with Cape Liz as my base, then I used a makeup sponge to apply XX to the tips of my nails. On my accent nail I did a fracture pattern with Enchanted Polish Bruised Nutcracker. This is a beautiful dusty blue holographic polish, and I really need to do a swatch of this one day. But keep reading for more on these Cirque polishes!

Cape Liz is a pale blue-grey, very similar in colour, but a tad darker than China Glaze Sea Spray. It has a very subtle iridescent shimmer. I used three coats here and the application was great. It does dry a bit dull, so I recommend doubling up on the top coat or using a combination of Gelous + top coat.

XX is a gorgeous glitter topper, I really love this one! It's got a clear base and is packed with holographic glitter, over 20 kinds according to the Cirque website. The glitter is tiny to medium in size and there's hexes, squares, and diamonds. Although the glitter is holographic, there seems to be an overall pastel colour scheme to the glitter, making it perfect for spring. I had no problem getting some of the larger shapes out.

Maybe it was the diamond glitter in XX, but I decided to add some variation with an accent nail. I love how this turned out, the holo effect in XX and Bruised Nutcracker really make this special. :)

What do you think of this? Do you own any Cirque?

  5. for once I own the polish that you're swatching :) I have Cape Liz and Never Nude and they're some of my favorites ;)
I don't like XX so much, it's too 'messy' - too much !

    1. Never Nude looks gorgeous, and it's definitely on my wish list. I've never heard of XX being too messy, but I can see your point there! Maybe because of the bigger pieces? :)
