Cirque Fleur est Belle

Hi everyone! I have a special polish for you today. Cirque Fleur est Belle (literally translated "flower is beautiful") is a polish exclusive to Mei Mei's Signatures, an online polish retailer based in Singapore. Cirque is an indie brand based out of New York, and they collaborated with Mei Mei's Signatures to create this special polish. I was instantly intrigued when I first saw photos of this online, especially the swatches on Fashion Polish, and I was fortunate to be able to purchase this on the day it launched. A bit of a warning though, this is a picture heavy post (more so than usual at least), so make sure to click on the photos and view the slide show!

Cirque Fleur est Belle

Fleur est Belle is a dusty rose jelly with a gold shimmer that up close looks like tiny flakes. It has an intriguing mixture of glitter that evokes the beauty of springtime but without the conventional pastel colours that we are used to seeing in spring collections. As for the glitter, there are pink and gold hexes and squares in different sizes, and there's also large white hex glitter. The glitter takes on a layer of complexity when it's suspended in the jelly base. Some of the gold glitter has almost a green tone, which is appropriate for the polish and the spring theme, while the white hexes have a pale pink sheen.

I used three thin coats for these swatches, and the formula was good given that it is packed with glitter. The glitter has a tendency to sink to the bottom, so turning the bottle upside down for 10-15 minutes before using it, and shaking it between coats, is necessary. I did find it to be a tad thick and added a few drops of thinner. But the application overall was very good, and I didn't have trouble getting enough glitter on my nails.

What do you think of this? I'll admit that I was a tad worried that it wouldn't live up to my expectations, but when I had it on, those worries went away. I love how feminine this looks, and it has an ethereal quality with the glitter suspended in the jelly base. It's also very versatile and can be layered over other colours for different effects. A Lacquered Affair did a nice post where she tried different layering combinations, my favourite which is over a dark polish. You can see her post here.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, this polish is exclusive to Mei Mei's Signatures, and is only available until June. So if you are interested I suggest getting it sooner rather than later. And it's currently in stock, so what are you waiting for?!

    1. I agree, Annie has really raised the bar when it comes to indie/hand blended polish. I'm a bit biased, but I think it's definitely worth a special order from Mei Mei's.
